AnJ signs for NRG

NRG have confirmed the signing of Allan "AnJ" Jensen from Singularity.

The 22-year-old had been benched by Singularity after expressing his desire to join a more experienced team and compete at a higher level.

He has been widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in the Nordic region since helping Singularity to win Copenhagen Games after coming from the BYOC qualifier. Allan "AnJ" Jensen averaged a 1.25 Rating in the tournament and was the top performer in the 2-0 final victory over dreamchasers with a 1.40 Rating.

AnJ moves to North America to play for NRG

AnJ will be stepping into the shoes of Derrick "LILMAN" Boyne, who had not played for the team since the beginning of the month after joining them on trial in April.

"I would like to thank Singularity for the time we’ve spent together since October last year," AnJ told NRG's website.

"We have grown together and we all find ourselves elevated to new heights from where we started. I would also like to thank them for allowing me to spend my time on the bench to talk to NRG.

"In the last month, I received several offers, but none that peeked my interest like NRG's, and after talks with both management and players I’m extremely happy to have been given the chance to play for this organisation.

"This move is a dream come true, getting to play with and against players I’ve looked up to for so long is just amazing. I can’t wait to get started and working with the team!"

AnJ's first event with NRG will be DreamHack Valencia, from July 14-16, for which the team qualified with Mitch "mitch" Semago as a stand-in.

With these changes, NRG now have:

United States Peter "ptr" Gurney
United States Jacob "FugLy" Medina
United States Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
Canada Damian "daps" Steele
Denmark Allan "AnJ" Jensen

whats unexpected about this? its happened like 593 times before. NA = equally as big leagues as europe but shit teams with shit players mostly so they buy out ppl from europe that cant get on a decently paid team here. it went a bit under the radar but ofc he had to join some team and since heroic got esetag and not him smth like this was evident.
2017-06-28 18:51
Makes me think about what's gonna happen to valde tbh
2017-06-28 20:58
i can see why, but i dont think a player of his calibre would settle for a joke of a team like NRG. dont think hes sunk this low yet. and theres still hope for him that north screws up the major and gets rid of aizy or whoever.

2017-06-28 18:43
He will also be able to significantly boost his stock while playing in NA since the probability of him attending tier-1 events grows exponentially. In general, I think this is a pretty good career decision for many talented players in the depths of Europe who need to wait for space to open in their region before they can actually start to make a liveable salary.

Nah. If they wanna -daps for an EU IGL, send daps to a better NA team. OpTic daps Kreygasm. Then send FNS to C9. OpTic Liquid and C9 would be fighting in quarter finals of a Major at least

Most garbage team in NA is C9. At least NRG dont qualify for lans. C9 get invited over teams like CLG then C9 go out in groups. NA gets a bad name when I think even fucking NRG could do better. I mean at least NRG has an IGL that could fix and move pieces around when facing international teams.

2017-06-29 17:33
Well as you can see, BIG are doing pretty well now, so I guess the problem wasn't the 3 Europeans...NA CS is far behind European and that's a fact. If they have money, let them waste it on a random guy from EU like you said. I agree he won't improve them significantly, but he is for sure far better player then others on that roster. You will see it when he signs with some top Danish team.
