Liquid pick apart OpTic, advance to playoffs
With a dominant 16-5 victory over OpTic on Cobblestone, Liquid secured a spot in ESL One Cologne quarter-finals following a 3-0 record in the group stage.
The first two rounds saw 1v2 clutches going each team's way, as William "RUSH" Wierzba picked one up on the A bombsite in the pistol round and Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz replied in the following forcebuy.
However, from there on the half was firmly in the hands of Josh "jdm64" Marzano and company, who only conceded one more round before claiming 10 in total on their defense.
Liquid grabbed the following pistol to start off the second half and survived the next anti-ecos for a 13-5 lead. stanislaw then opened up the A site thanks to sneaky play, resulting in OpTic saving three weapons. Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas's side were unable to put those weapons to use, though, and Liquid soon picked up a dominant victory at 16-5.
