pashaBiceps: "It will be a miracle if we survive this"

Virtus.pro member Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski has admitted that it will take "a miracle" for his team to stick together following the recent results.

The 29-year-old's comments came in the aftermath of Virtus.pro's early exit at ESL One Cologne after just three games following defeats to Immortals, SK and Heroic.

The Polish team enjoyed a great start to the year, finishing in second place at the ELEAGUE Major and winning DreamHack Masters Las Vegas, but since then they have been in a worrying slump of form.

pashaBiceps believes things will only get harder for his team

At their last three big international events - IEM Katowice, StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 3 and ESL One Cologne -, Virtus.pro failed to reach the playoffs, while they have been relegated from the ESL Pro League and could also lose their spot in ECS after finishing in ninth place last season.

Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski admits that he and his teammates are enduring the worst slump of their careers and added that they are struggling to find a solution to the problem.

"Third event with no results, I have never had such a bad period in my eight-year career, it was not long ago that we lost the Major grand final," he wrote on Facebook.

"What to do to not go crazy? What to do to get back in shape? It is hard already, and it is going to get even harder.

"If we survive this and do not split up it will be another miracle."

Virtus.pro's next event will be PGL Major Krakow, in less than two weeks, where the Polish team will face Vega Squadron in the first round of the Swiss stage.

2017-07-06 04:04
...snax, more consistent...? Have you watched any fucking snax matches lately and compared them to recent allu matches, or are you just talking out of your ass, 'cause you're braindead? Snax has an unbelievably fucking high skill ceiling, but he's not consistent, at least not recently.
2017-07-06 16:16
playing with 5 ppl does not really bring you back in the game.. playing with a team like FaZe will surely up your game in no time... it shouldnt be long before snax finds his consistency...

wtf are you on about, Allus english is more than decent.. Like obviously since nordic contries teach english from roughly the age of 8 to 17.. Summing up to between 650 and 900 hours of english lessons (varies depending some factors). You clearly havn't heard a single interview of allu, or your english is simply too bad to be able to judge it.. Edit: Here you go, you fool: > youtube.com/watch?v=VQKi6IYrxKM

I'm not sure if changing one player would result. I think the actual mindset would be tranfered to the new player. I really think they need to change 2 or 3, and these players need to have personality.

Pasha elementary school? Pasha finished high school, passed his high school diploma, even went to college medical but threw for cs

Dudes.. Pasha and taz are fathers. I'm a father and I can't even play cs anymore to be able to sort everything else. Its difficult. They are doing the best they can.. Sleep depravation, organization and stress all accumulated its obvious that they would go down on their performance. Not forever, because in 6 months kids start sleeping better and being regular. Lets see in the major.

Bollocks... What about professional athletes from normal sports? Football, Basketball, etc... Most of them have families, yet they are able to maintain their professionalism and compete on the highest level. I don't about what kind of parenting are you talking about if they are travelling most of the time and out of home. They rarely get to even see their families. You live a normal life and you see your family everyday, but they don't. They all agreed to live the life of professional gamer with all it's consequences.

how stupid of ppl to say "finaly they split up" ... This is one of the big powerhous of CSGO and was of CS. And the people go to the Arena to WATCH VP. Not to watch Immortals - North or OpTic - Astralis. This is the team of the people. Amazing team that always get results. Hope they win the major and they can win the major. I give them 45% chance to take the major. And Astralis 25% and SK 20% and NiP 15%
2017-07-06 10:30
You're dumb and delusional if you can't see that they're done, they'll most drop out in groups at the major like they've done at the last 3 big events they've attended to, they've never been in a slump this bad, not even remotely I'd rather see them retire/split up than keep tarnishing their legacy

I think i read it either on HLTV or on VaKarM (french site), maybe not 25.000$ (can't remember the exact figure, maybe 20.000$, can't remember the exact source so don't know if it was reliable) but the figure i read "shocked" me even more than the numbers for North or G2 (on the 20-25.000$/€ month range) because the average salary in Poland is lower than in France, and way lower than in Denmark. (i will try to find the source, if i find it back i will update my message to link it to you)

I apologize for what may be a false information as i'm reading an article from the 19th of December 2016 on VaKarM saying they signed for 4 years (until the end of 2020) but no salary was mentioned in the article. Maybe i "dreamt" it or read elsewhere and the people that has written it (if it ever existed lol) wasn't reliable.

how much can change your life in that sort time from TOP1 to meme in less than 6months
2017-07-06 01:49
That's like a life time in cs dude.. there have been endless failures ever since taz got cocky. His statement was their downfall. It's time for them to change things anyway. Teams shouldn't stay together this long in any sport. Just look at fnatic trying to do it As Well. The only time fnatic were successful when they made changes. Same with envyus FaZe.. nearly every successful team.
2017-07-06 02:31
thing is there isn't any other option in the polish scene. best player in the polish scene who can replace someone from VP is michu and he's mediocre to bad. nV can make changes cuz there's so many good players in the fr scene, and FaZe can just choose any player if they want. for VP they will end up with nothing, no talent to replace and will end up with 2 shit teams. if they change they might as well retire excluding Snax and maybe byali.
2017-07-06 02:46
I'm sorry but anything is better then going 0-3 every tourny. Finishing last place every online league. Dropping to premier minor. When they get knocked out of the major without a win then they will just have to change no matter what. Losing 90% of games even to t3/4 teams is just the end of a team.

I doubt they will disband they just signed 4 year contracts and they usually bounce back
2017-07-06 01:35
They won't bounce back though. 2 of them have new borns. They don't have the mental energy to succeed at this level anymore. They are up against at least 12 teams that all put in 100% and dont have other commitments in life. This is a job that needs that to stay on top and there days having the time to be even a t2 team are over.. They aren't even that anymore. So stop saying hopeful bullshit about that lol. They have to disban or swap 2 players at least

ik tbh i don't really care what happens to them i just think they will keep struggling on maybe finding some success here or there same as they have always done. Besides with the contracts they have signed im sure the money they r getting is better than other jobs they could find atm
2017-07-06 02:50
Yup thats the only reason they will stay together which is depressing in its self lol
2017-07-06 03:13
do you know their contract condition? I don't think so. yes they have all contracts till 2020 but maybe the organisation has built a clause in their contracts to end their contracts

2017-07-06 01:35
They need a coach, psychologist or somebody to help them to beat vega and bring back the victory. I'd not like them to split and retires, 'cause most of them aren't young players and i don't think that pasha (or anybody of that old-players) with 29 years old goes for another team if VP splits up. I hope so, but i don't think so.

Sorry but wanting them to stay together is worse because you can see from their reactions after ever failing tournament they are slowly dying inside. If you were a fan you would want change because not only do they need it to get better but they need it for their life. This will be also making them depressed in life. They have family's to take care of now and if they are getting destroyed event after event. Do you think they will go home to their family feeling happy? No fucking way.. They will carry these feelings with them. So people like you that want them to stick together are the bad fans.
2017-07-06 02:41
I want them to do well thats right, as a cs fan I want to see them playing. However if it is really as you say and there is no coming back then they should do whatever makes them happy.

The problem with the polish scene is the fact that all of the players like Kuben, LUq, Lord etc retired, and didnt contribute to creating new talent within the polish scene. If VP had to swap players, I would still actually pick all the 5 VP players for the best polish lineup possible. It seems as if they are burnt out, and need a longer break. Give them 3-6 months away from the game, give them the chance of having fun playing CSGO again, and things might change. If they decided on changing roster - who would go? Pasha, snax and byali have been solid the last three months - so do you cut neo and taz? And who do you pick up? Michu and who? Innocent to get an IGL? There simply is not enough talent for them to swap players. Much less enough players with the needed experience to be champions.

this is the best scenario SNAX join FAZE and poland become one man player scene EleGiggle
2017-07-06 02:25
the first part could be copy/pasted into german cs after 1.6 went downhill. all legends of mouz/aTTaX retired (even gob for like 2 years) and none was left to build on, it took several years and a comeback of gobb to form another top 15 team in BiG even tho mouz/Penta had been there already even tho the level of competition wasnt as high as it is now. /e: VP gotta go back to NEO IGL, TaZ focus on fragging, otherwise he is dead weight, same goes for byali. let snax awp and pasha rifle.
2017-07-06 01:52

Man, this is so sad. I really hope they somehow have a great run at PGL Major. Undoubtedly they have the aim, the raw individual skills, the knowledge and the teamplay necessary to do so, but I'm sure something outgame has been severely interfering in their performances. Whatever that is, I hope they can overcome it together and stay strong as individuals and as a team, because what they've built for this game and the whole community is priceless and they can for sure still contribute immensely. CS:GO would never have become such a great game if it wasn't for VP showing to their fans and to the world (is there anyone who dares not to have sympathy for them?) what having a team you can call family means, if it wasn't for each and every one of them always having immense respect towards their opponents. They've gone through so much together, from being at the top and remaining humble, to enduring many downfalls and keeping the hard work as if their comeback was certain. And it is bound to happen once again, hopefully they'll be able to pull off another miracle and keep helping CS:GO community grow bigger, stronger and as warm hearted as they are for many years to come. #respect

No, they just don't put any effort in the game and cry afterwards, they play less than 10 hours cs per week...they complain, but it's their fault, not bootcamping/tryharding PUBG
2017-07-06 02:44
The problem is they all have families that they have to take care of. I wouldn't play cs for 10 hours a day either if i had a newborn child. Pasha just got his second child, taz has a newborn child, and kuben has a baby aswell. They are probably just too distracted, to put effort and time into cs. ofcourse. you think the lineup changes are happening already?
2017-07-06 11:29
VP and Fnatic... amazing. Crazy how great they were even a year ago and how fast and far they've fallen. Nip was looking the same, but possibly staving off Father Time a bit longer
2017-07-06 03:27
fnatic is much worse compared to VP to be fair. none of them has family except of dennis (newborn child) and VP struggled just after Las Vegas. VP has been inform since 22th May 2016 when they won starladder vs Navi, since then VP has dropped in 9,5/10 cases playoffs (not only that they always had atleast a top 4 finish in their pocket) semis, finals or a tournament win. they only had 2 tournaments when they couldn't make it to the semis! starladder season 2 (exit groupstage) and ELEAGUE Season 2 quarter finals vs FaZe in a close BO3. that is actually really good.

Guys, write and wait for this: VP to major semis or grand finals. Papa thinks ahead of out time...
2017-07-06 04:17
If virtus.pro disbands or even changes 1 player, it'll be one of, if not the worst thing to happen in csgo. End of an era, hopefully they fight to stick together and plow again soon.

it all started with friberg leaving NiP
2017-07-06 04:27
Agreed, at least he seems pretty content so far with being on the desk. I love the dude and being a caster/analyst would be sick, but I think him playing again in a lesser team like red reserve or epsilon would be fantastic.

2017-07-06 06:16
If they do change the lineup, MICHU will be a part of it %100. He is the best polish player other than VP and has stood in for them multiple times. Also guys remember this? x3.cdn03.imgwykop.pl/c3201142/comment_Nr.. They could get szpero as well, he is a pretty good awper along with mouz who is a great fragger aswell. Other than those three I don't really see an option.
2017-07-06 06:27
Hearing talk like this is sad, but think back on VP's CS:GO history. One of the last big teams to make the switch from 1.6, started out awful, eventually rose to the near-top, and cycled between peak and plateau ever since. It's just the nature of their form, for whatever reason. I can't think of a time since 2013 that they stayed near the top for more than a handful of months

if they disband or kick 2-3 players they won't find poorlacks who will play on the same level their scene is almost non existent outside of vp
2017-07-06 07:14
On 1 hand it's really tragic if they end up splitting, the history behind this team(Zonic's mTw springs to mind as one that hurst just as much) But refinding motivation really means so much, and changes "can" do wonders. Maby take a year apart on others teams to then reunite even stronger with newfound energy/experice and again be amongst brothers in arms :)

Age is irrelevant. In functional terms, the only thing age will impact on in this game is reaction time and hand eye co-ordination. Reaction time will happen further down the line, certainly not in your 30's, hand eye co-ordination MUCH later than that. I don't see any playing reason why someone can't stay in this game until 40. Becoming a father will no doubt have an impact on performance, however, by all means it's possible to manage this given an initial period to adjust. No one here knows what's going on in the lives of each of these players and inside the team, everything on here is pure speculation. Fact of the matter is they have a large number of results under their belt, they are capable and have the skill to still win Majors. Have the players grown tired of the game? Are they suffering burnout from all the time they've given up and dedicated to the game? If they're prepared to put in the hours and improve, it's going to be a psychological issue. I would have thought an organisation such as VP would have access to a sports psychologist, I'd be shocked if they didn't. Pasha's comments certainly seem to lend weight to consigning the team to all being in the same boat. To be asking, 'What to do' it seems they're at a loss of what the issue is, again suggesting they're putting in the hours and it is something beneath the surface (psychological). I hate bringing the psychological issue up as its very much a buzz word in eSports at the moment. While it's undoubtedly needed, and great to see, a lot of people are jumping on the bandwagon with it. However, this situation screams of needing one. Again, if the players have the desire and commitment to fix this, they can certainly do it. They may have to dismantle everything and start bottom up, but the capability is certainly there. It's cliche, but if you get through this, you'll only be stronger. Every team, in every sport, is going to experience slumps in form. The best teams pull together more when things get rough and ride it out. You're at a fork in the road VP, you going left? Or going right?

I hope they will find their way out. I really hope they can still have the same lineup. but we all know what happened to NiP. they tried for two years without doing anything major to their team, and finally they changed out two players and got their coatch back full time. This seems to have changed them totally from the ESL Cologne 2017 tournament. maybe its time for a change.

I think that when we are in a bad moment, we think it is the end of the world and there is no solution, but there is always a solution. The evil of social networks is when we post something hot-headed and it will be for life. He should not speak what he said. I cheer for the Brazilian teams, but I'm a fan of the CS as a whole, and I appreciate the brotherhood of the members of the VP. I hope they get through this bad phase and return to the golden age.

Reverse "from rags to richies" :( From a team that would beat anyone, to a team that can't beat mediocree teams :( In my opinion they are too much well off. Too much money and little motivation. They game says all. They have always missed something to make them a team like fnatic or SK. They had flashes of genuinely superteam, but never solidified themselves. Hopefully they sort it out and stay together.

Last year everyone talked about personal changes in VP and then they back and did good job at few tournaments. In my opinion it's not personal problem becouse everyone of them can play this game better than 95% in the world. Well... You should forget about retire for some players. Maybe they have a huge problem inside team. In one of the latest interview Neo said something like "Maybe it's time for hire sport psychologist... but not every one of us want to do it. We must find solution from this situation" and "Some players prefer practice at home and don't like bootcamps. I prefer practicing at bootcamp". I think every VP player is playing for 100% but not everyone of them "believe" in tactic changes etc. so in the end the team playing "slovenly".

Snax / Byali will form the VirtusPro.Academy team. Actually, Taz should form it and then retire to become a manager in a few years time. It's time to put more commitment on a child that has already learnt to walk and talk.

The men. The myths. The legends. Polish giants, the timeless powerhouse, the unbrokable giants. And now it seems they are going to be broken... Or not? It seems like they are in their biggest slump now, but now they have time to prepare for Krakow and find their last motivation. They are supposed to play that soccer match woth SK, aren't they? And maybe this all is just a theatre, one bug play, one big false. Who knows? And maybe not. We can't see into their heads. We can only see what they show us. Still don't forget about Krakow. It's their homeland. If the team needs something, it's motivation and support. Go then, Krakowians and Polaks. Go on Sunday, stand before TAURON and show them who stands behimd them. Show them who they play for, show them their logo, Polish flag, show them support. If it goes well, then.. Then you will recognize it.

im alright with vp disbanding. im a vp fan since 2013. im a huge fan of byali, because his raw aim is absolutely amazing, but sadly hes so inconsistent that you rarely even see him getting a 3k. snax is a great player, and i hope he will rise with kinguin when VP disband. I can see taz having a future at ESL just like fifflaren or some sort of analyst. Neo is going to go back to normal life, hes old and is probably planning a family.
