North win Danish derby; Heroic eliminated

North are through to Round 5 of the ESL One Cologne Swiss stage after edging out Heroic 16-14 on Inferno.

The match began with North winning the pistol round as CT after crushing Heroic as they tried to push towards the A site. A third-round buy from Heroic did not bear fruits, putting them in a difficult economical situation, but then they were able to pull one round back on a force buy thanks to a 1v2 clutch from Patrick "es3tag" Hansen with an AWP.

At 3-2, Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen prevented Heroic from levelling the score with a quad kill in banana/sandbags, but Heroic quickly regained control of proceedings, leaving their opponents strapped for cash.

North survive keenly-contested Danish derby

Down 8-4, North called a tactical pause, a move that paid off as they denied Heroic's late A execution with three quick kills from René "cajunb" Borg. Jakob "JUGi" Hansen came up huge for his team in the following round with a 1v3 clutch to complete an ace, but North still won the final round to bring the deficit to 9-6.

A strong start from North on the Terrorist side saw them win five of the first six rounds, forcing Heroic to call a tactical pause. After another period of dominance from the Terrorists, Heroic finally managed to string a few rounds together and restored parity at 14-14.

MSL called a timeout to discuss the strategy for the final two rounds and halt Heroic's momentum. A successful B execution swung the tide back in North's favour, and they rode that momentum to win the 30th round and secure a spot in the next Swiss round in Cologne.

I think you're forgetting device lol, JuGi is good but device is better. Also this is an unbiased opinion since I'm not an astralis/device fan.

north hasn't looked good at this event or recently in generally. won both pistols on inferno against heroic and nearly lost that game anyway. i have my doubts they will go to the playoffs unfortunately. they have to be lucky with the draw at least.

More like; Kick MSL > CajunB to IGL Kick Aizy > Get Valde as Riffler Promote Mertz > Get CajunB to riffle and Call, and Mertz to Awp

I trust more in MSLs ability to call than Cajun, he seams like a quiet guy. I think Cajun would be a good support player, so for me it could also work with +Mertz - Aizy, but I prefer Aizy over Cajun. Right now Magisk and k0nfig always carry. If they could get both Mertz and Valde they would have an insane team.

MSL Magisk K0nfig Valde Jugi/mertz Top 1 contender
2017-07-06 15:30
With that move you just made it such an inexperienced team, who are far worse at communicating with each other and are likely to lose many rounds just based on lack of initiative.
2017-07-06 16:35
Of course it wouldn't show fantastic results immediately. I say give that lineup around 5months and North era begins. Just my opinion, fun to think about tho :>
