FaZe dominate Liquid, advance to semis
FaZe become the third semi-finalists of ESL One Cologne with a dominant two-mapper against Liquid (Overpass 16-9, Train 16-5).
Håvard "rain" Nygaard and Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey kicked off the third quarter-final of ESL One Cologne, as they combined for five kills and FaZe went up 3-0 on the Terrorist side of Overpass. Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's two triples in key rounds then gave Liquid the lead, and another from Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken later on set the score to 7-3 in the North American team's favor.
The Norwegian proceeded to add four kills to his name in the next pistol round when he played behind the rock on long on his lonesome, but Liquid overpowered the B bombsite with the next round's forcebuy.
FaZe replied with a forcebuy of their own and proceeded to dominate the defense, as rain kept abusing Liquid's flanks from fountain. stanislaw's team could only win one more round throughout the rest of the map, and FaZe picked up map one at 16-9.
Finn "karrigan" Andersen's side shut down each attack, at times going on the aggressive towards inner or ivy to get early advantages, until it was 10-1. Josh "jdm64" Marzano was the man of the hour then with three kills in an afterplant situation on B, but it was all for naught as FaZe picked up the last three rounds for 13-2.
