mousesports & EnVyUs qualify for DreamHack Malmo

mousesports and EnVyUs have both qualified for DreamHack Masters Malmo after reaching the final of the European closed qualifier.

Sixteen teams from all over Europe - eight coming from an open pre-qualifier and eight invited by DreamHack - competed in a single-elimination bracket for the chance to qualify for the next DreamHack Masters event, with two spots up for grabs.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the qualifier came right in the first round as GODSENT, who reached the semi-finals of last year's Malmö event, were eliminated by Outlaws thanks to a strong individual performance from Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov, who finished the three-map series on a +18 KDD and a 1.29 Rating.

mousesports secure DreamHack Masters Malmö spot

mousesports, who survived a close series against Space Soldiers in the quarter-finals, booked their spot at DreamHack Masters Malmö after defeating FlipSid3 2-0 in a match between two teams who will be at the upcoming Major, with Robin "ropz" Kool and Chris "chrisJ" de Jong both raising eyebrows for their performances.

From the other half of the bracket came Envy, who were made to work hard to reach the semi-finals by both Playing Ducks and Heroic. Curiously, the semi-final encounter against HellRaisers ended up being the easiest for the Frenchmen, who ran out 2-0 victors.

Funny how you're making jokes about SS now but when you lost to SS you were porbably crying in your basement.
2017-07-12 20:45
No matter what Space Soldiers will never earn as many trophies as SK have done right now. He probably cries over an bo1 xD
2017-07-12 21:19
Actually, you're wrong. I love spaceSoldiers, and I love their gamestyle. I always watch their matches, and I really was very sad when they coudn't qualify for the major. But the truth is: they need to be more humble. I don't like their arrogance. But Xantares and Calyx are the turkish coldzera and fer.

Tier 1 tournament, great team list. Liquid will get that last spot easy, since c9 is not attending. Again, like in Cologne, a newcomer will join the giants. These opportunities surely make SS and B.O.O.T. evolve a lot.

Ita called impact. 5 frags opening the round are way better than 10 exit frags.
2017-07-12 01:47
aha ok that makes some sense... but exit frags means saved weapon and utility (in most cases) and dmg to opponents eco ... so im still conflicted xD

Entry frags mean you're more likely to win the round, exit frags, aside from being easier to get, are making the best out of an already lost round.
2017-07-12 07:33
It depends on what side you get those entry frags, don't you agree? Like when you get 50 and less dmg entry frag as a CT it has much less impact than on a T side.. But when you pick up exit and anti save frags as a T that has more impact on CT eco, since they need to balance economy more than T side.

Exit frags are always on the CT side, post-plant, when you try to get a T moving out of bombsite. They have zero impact in that round, since it's already lost. Opening frags without being traded are round winners in the competitive scene. Look at SK, they secure almost every round they get a man advantage. This is the kind of frag that really matters and are very impactful.
