hampus: "Feel confident about facing CLG"
Our next interview at DreamHack Open Valencia is with Hampus "hampus" Poser, with whom we talked about Red Reserve's win over NRG in Group B's elimination match.
Regarding the series against NRG - they won your pick, you won their pick. I guess you were not expecting that?
We play Train a lot and we're pretty confident on it. But we lost both pistols, and, despite playing a good T-side, as CT we could not get rounds, I think we did not win a single round with guns.
Looking at your team's map stats, Cobblestone is a worse pick than Train, but you still managed to win on it. What are your thoughts on that game?
It felt pretty good to win on Cobblestone. Train and Cobble are almost our two best maps, I think, so it was weird that they picked Cobble against us because we play it a lot.
How were you guys feeling before Cache?
We had never played it before in an official match, but we have actually practiced it a lot. It's like our secret weapon, so we felt pretty confident on it.
The match against NiP was one-sided. Was it because of the map? [Inferno]
I actually don't know. We didn't play like we use to, and it was our first game on stage, so I guess everyone was a bit nervous.
Now you'll be facing CLG. How do you feel about it?
I feel the same way I did facing NRG. They are both from North America, so I feel confident.
How was your preparation for this event?
We had a bootcamp for about 10 days in Gothenburg, so we played some CS there, but also FIFA and ping-pong to relax and improve our team chemistry.
You failed to qualify for Malmö and Atlanta, so I assume that this is a crucial event for you?
Yes, we really want to go as far as possible in this tournament.
Who do you think will be the toughest opponent?
That's probably Heroic or NiP.
