NBK: "We were thrown off [by the veto]

Striker
July 17th, 2017 01:38

In our next interview from PGL Major Krakow, Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt explained why G2 decided to toss a coin for the map against Natus Vincere and walked us through the 16-14 win in which the Frenchmen came back from a 3-12 deficit.

Just before the seventh match of day one kicked off, G2 tossed a coin to decide which map they would play against Natus Vincere between Overpass and Nuke, both of which the French side lost to Denis "seized" Kostin's squad in ESL One Cologne quarter-finals.

In the end it came down to Overpass, where G2 only clinched three rounds on the Terrorist side but went on to put up 13 rounds on their defense to edge Na`Vi 16-14.

In our first video interview from the Major, Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt explained why the team couldn't decide which map to play, walked us through his point of view of the match, and discussed their next match-up, Gambit.

2017-07-17 01:39
how the fuck were they thrown off? Obviously that NaVi bans: cache, cobble and inferno against g2. so were G2 permanent ban's and 2 of NaVi's 3 best map, with train and Mirage. it only could go to overpass or Nuke
2017-07-17 01:40
What the f*** are you talking about ? Navi bans aren't cache/cobble/inferno at all Usually its Cache and Nuke. And for the last map, it depend if Navi want to ban Cobble or Inferno, that what G2 and all the analyst desk was excpecting : Overpass and Cobble/Inferno
2017-07-17 02:20
do u retard why Navi ban nuke when They Rape g2 g2 only won 4 gun round in Last match up

Its a fluke. Navi is still terrible at Nuke, look at their past records on it. They only won it once against a terrible g2 + simple going godmode.
2017-07-17 05:15
But how long record u consider Navi go fully godmode in 2 game vs Flipside and G2
2017-07-17 05:31
Well i wouldnt call 16-13 a "rape" but fair enough. All the analysts who obviously know 100x times more than your dumb ass, predicted cobble/inferno so yeah.

Nice excuse With that concept they would never qualify a lan...
2017-07-17 02:48
but all top tier lan has invites
2017-07-17 12:47
i think g2 is still the top contender in this major. They will only get stronger if they get into bo3 format in playoff.

haHAA G2 are running skilled chickens. They nearly lost to NA'VI, the most overrated team of the year (if we exclude G2-3).

confidence in all competitive sports and esports is very important. confidence will enable you to peek and get a frag instead of sitting back and let other team take map control. Doubting yourself at the biggest tournament of your career is a big mistake. Many french players and teams have had problems with attitude, getting tilted, and doubting themselves. NBK wants to do the best he can, and be the most confident he can, even if he has his personal doubts. You have to push doubts out of your mind to focus on what is the best play possible.
2017-07-17 09:10
I don't know if you watched the interview or not but he seems way more insecure than confident.

Feels always stupid to decide a map with a coin toss, Nuke could have been much more easier for G2 (apart from the previous match up where navi stomped them, but they are still not a "good" team on nuke).
2017-07-17 09:07
They still won... so who cares?
