G2 defeat Cloud9 in overtime

G2 are now 2-1 at PGL Major Krakow following a 19-17 overtime victory over Cloud9 on Cobblestone.

The North Americans started the match as Terrorists and with a successful push to A through drop. Despite picking up the subsequent force-buy to eventually reach a 3-1 lead, G2 could not hold Cloud9 off for five straight rounds.

Jake "Stewie2K" Yip's squad then changed the pace of the game with a fast B execution, but they were not able to prevail against the Frenchmen's defence. Cloud9 would respond with another set of slow rounds to get two more on the board, but G2 managed to reduce the deficit to 7-8 by half-time.

In yet another overtime match, G2 have picked up their second win in Krakow

Now as Terrorists, the French team got the lead after winning the pistol round and the following anti-ecos. Still, a triple-kill from Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham with an AWP in the first gun round allowed Cloud9 to reach an 11-10 lead.

The North American team then seemed to be ready to pick up another round, but Kenny "kennyS" Schrub broke their economy with a crucial quad-kill that included a 1v3 clutch. G2 would go on to reach match point but they were unable to deal the finishing blow, letting Cloud9 restore parity at 15-15.

G2 won the first round of overtime thanks to a triple-kill from Dan "apEX" Madesclaire. They would lose the next two rounds before stepping up in the second half to finally close out the map, 19-17, and secure their second win in the PGL Major Krakow Swiss stage.

G2 have huge psycologic problems. Look at them - they move like noobs, they lose so many duels, and shox, being a top level madfragger, can't even build his team the way that allows him to get multiple frags like he used to in 2016 along with ScreaM. Remember kennyS? Remember how he hit so many shots? He just moved his ass wherever and killed enemies. Now his movement with the AWP is bad, his aim is not good. OK, apEX has never been consistent, but the others should be much more successful, their aim is pretty much the only thing that they can rely on when shox is leading, and they miss so much. Of course any lineup change can't fix anything for them, except for picking a dedicated IGL in place of bodyy or NBK, but they should do something as soon as possible, otherwise they will never be a T1 team for more than a couple of weeks, and it's a shame, they have the best French players, and they struggle so much. apEX and kennyS are emos, they should finally stop it and calm down. Cloud9? Almost expected, another team that relies on raw aim and simple strats. Oh, I forgot: -allu -kio +Skadoodle +Twistzz.

I agree on what you're trying to say. For the amount of firepower on paper the team posesses, it is kinda underwhelming to see them perform like this.

apreciate your hardwork on writting this. The only thing you forget is Clown9 somehow now is a lot more organize team than they are a couple of month ago, dont underestimate what they did by saying G2 is bad, even actualy G2 not playing that good in this game. Hope they play better next game, too long we didnt see Shox on quarterfinal
2017-07-18 18:43
I agree. Wasting shox as the IGL isn't that good... plus they have slow ass starts and only win aim battles when they're motivated which seems like never. They're all really good players don't get me wrong.
2017-07-18 18:44
kennyS movement and aim is bad? Come on KennyS has been playing fantastic in 2017. okay now he is struggling quite a bit, but still a lethal strong awper and good player. that 4 kill vs was so good from him.
2017-07-18 18:47
This is true. Although he hasn't been the best, the observer never catches any of his amazing kills. People only see him in pressured situations where he whiffs.

I didn't know s1mple makes strats :o

atleast u can sell them on steam for money or trade it on sites like Skinsjar for a decent/good weapon skin meanwhile ive watched 4 majors and no drops, im hoping for even just 1 drop so i can sell it or trade it away cuz i want to complete my red theme inventory but i dont wanna use the rest of my savings just for CSGO skins
