rmn receives VAC ban
k1ck player Ricardo "rmn" Oliveira has been given a permanent ban by the Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) software.
On Twitter, the player admitted to being "speechless" and stated that he has attempted to contact Valve, claiming that, while his Steam account displays a VAC ban, the game only shows that he has been banned by Overwatch, the system introduced by Valve that allows community members to review reports of disruptive behaviour.
Ricardo "rmn" Oliveira is one of the most experienced Portuguese players, with a career that goes back to the early 2010s. Over the years, he has attended multiple international events, the latest of which being ESWC 2016, where he played alongside Dignitas member Ricardo "fox" Pacheco in a mix team called k1ck oldschool.
The 25-year-old has also been banned by FACEIT, but HLTV.org knows that the ban was simply triggered by his VAC ban when he logged in on the platform.
Contacted by HLTV.org, k1ck's management stated that the organisation "fully support" the player and that they have already reached out to Valve for clarification on this matter.
Levei ban no cs. Não faço ideia de como ou porquê. Mas quando abro o cs tenho a seguinte mensagem pic.twitter.com/ogPMpDHeSG
