TeamOne win Gamers Club Masters 2017

TeamOne have won the 2017 edition of Gamers Club Masters after defeating Merciless Gaming 2-0 in the final.

Held at the MAX5 Mega Arena, in São Paulo, the event featured a total of eight Brazilian teams, four determined by Gamers Club Liga Pro and four decided by an online qualifier that was held earlier in the month.

Without surprise, TeamOne, led by Brazilian veterans Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima and Rafael "pava" Pavanelli, formerly of Made in Brazil, topped their group, but then they were made to work hard to move past EN9MY in the semi-finals, only doing so after three maps.

trk was in great form throughout the tournament

From the other half of the bracket came Merciless, who attended the event with Victor "bld" Rocha and Caio "zqkS" Fonseca as stand-ins. With the former KaBuM member putting in a strong display, Merciless were able to beat Keyd 2-0 to secure a spot in the grand final.

The first map of the grand final, Overpass, was a complete blowout, as TeamOne ran out 16-3 victors after a great CT side. On Cobblestone, Merciless put up a good fight, but in the end TeamOne scraped through in overtime thanks to a stellar performance from Alencar "trk" Rossato, who had the highest Rating of the event at 1.49.

We can do something with BRL 10.000 But it's a small tournament in an event, what did you expect?
2017-07-30 21:02
$3200 when converted to USD, but Brazil doesn't use Dollars. The cost of living in Brazil is much smaller, so this prize is relatively big for a domestic tournament there.

That is not true at all.. 2k reais for each player is not good for a top level tourney.. That is a bad bad job if it is what the higher end is getting in a week, much less in a month here.

According to the Big Mac index, which explains a country's currency's power purchase, no you don't. You don't even pay anything near what Americans pay for anything.

in terms of cost of house-food related to quality of life americans would to pay much less to have the same level of quality than here in brazil, with the minimum salary in USA as a student u can live in a good room better than living in a favela, here in brazil with the minimum salary which is 300$ you will barely be able to pay food, have a car and live in a good room, in USA u can have a 600 cc racing bike with $3k dollars, here in brazil those bikes cost the minimum of R$40k, you would have to work 3 years without using the money for it, in usa with 3 minimum salaries u can rent a mansion, here in brazil u can rent a medium house at best if you live in the country side, if you live in SP capital for example with 3 minimum salary you would be able to rent at best a 2 room AP

what about ps4, gtx1080, iphone 7 costing 1,2k dollars here? not to say the quality of stuff we get. even the coffe or meat we keep domestic consume is equal to what we export. they get premium we get cancer.

2017-07-31 04:09
so is it 300 dollars a month, minimum wage?
2017-07-31 06:50

yes, that gives about r$900 to r$1000 depending on the state, just to have a notion of employement here, mechanic tecnicians earns about 3 to 5 minimum wages and engineers about 6 to 30 minimum wages ,its most normal 6 to 10 minimum wages, 10 to 30 minimum wages are exceptions for highly important engineers or lead engineer of a big section, 10 minimum wages is a good amount to have a good living if you live alone and 20 minimum wages u can be considered a millionaire since most people that earn that much saves money to buy big 2-1 million houses, sirugeon medics are also earning 10 to 20 minimum wages depending how good they are
2017-07-31 20:53
Can use the bigmac itself as an example, with the 299,074 USD (BR minimum salary) u can buy 58.4 bigmac’s, while with 1.256 USD, or 15.072 USD per year (USA minimum salary), u can buy 248.2 bigmac's.

You know, the index evolves every half year, and you choose a 5 year outdated one? Go search up the 2017 Big Mac index.

For now, just GC Masters and Fragadelphia are happening, both tournaments with no high tier teams and both are getting news here. Sad that now all tournaments gets investiments but what they need is clicks.
2017-07-30 21:53
everyone investing here? who? also the sad things is they are paying like nothing to put their brands all over brazilian teams and ppl think our scene is getting rich...pff lots of teams without gaming house or a decent salary. its just like compare Nike sponsorship between barcelona and corinthians.

Good job Team One.
