Christian 'loWel' Garcia Antoran has been released from his contract with mousesports, the player revealed via Twitter today.

The Spanish player joined MOUZ in October of last year, debuting for the team at the ELEAGUE Season 2 group stage. The European side, that had Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač in their ranks at the time, managed to advance in a group with Cloud9, FaZe and Immortals, following that up with a 3-4th finish at the ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals shortly after.

loWel is now a free agent

The first part of 2017 was a turbulent period for MOUZ who were swapping players in and out, but the team settled on the Czech sniper Tomáš "⁠oskar⁠" Šťastný and the Estonian youngster Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool before going on another good Pro League run, finishing 5-6th at the Season 5 Finals.

After a 12-14th placing at the PGL Major Krakow, MOUZ will be changing up their roster again, and it's the 20-year-old Spaniard that will be leaving the active lineup.

Christian "⁠loWel⁠" Garcia Antoran released a statement about his departure from MOUZ, but didn't reveal much about the nature of his departure or future plans:

If you have a player like NiKo who id that skilled you should build the team around him. Towards end of mouz he took alot of the focus away from himself and he performed worse and noone but lowel really joined him on a top level...

I agree with the fact that mouz had no other chance back then. If you watch some of their games, it wasn't like all Niko here and there, but Niko was the only one who consistently won his duels. The polish dude is correct too, but in the end there is no excuse why you lose a trade duel every other time.

The problem is, he downplays the fact that it takes an immense amount of skill to be put in that role. If you put Dennis in NiKo's role as the "carry/main star" Dennis probably wont be able to perform at a superstar level. Even if he does at least perform somewhat it wont be as effective as if a more skilled/complete player like NiKo ropz oskar would. some players are simply not skilled enough (not saying they cant improve in the future) to be in that role.

He was, a toxic personality like s1mple that wants things to be his way. Have you asked why everyone sucked on mouz when he was with them? He forced his imposing behaviour, a distinctable trait of the Balkans. Also, he has a big ego and he's also an individual player for the most part. That's the reason why FaZe got him and he perfectly fits there, because everyone are mostly individual.

A player with 11-19 stats can have the most important clutches, or plays that guaranteed his team a better position to win the round, or even win the round (as an example, killing bomb just before time runs out, or controls the bomb in some area) That is not an excuse for consistent "bad performance", but it explains so much for those braindeads who think CSGO match is won with frags. denis has been playing very good lately compared to how lolbad he was last year. Lowel supposed to be third(second?) star and hes nothing but decent. I still dont buy chrisJ as IGL (otherwise hes redundant in mouz for sure, maybe in some other decent tier2 team as sniper) but we will see. The bigger question is who will they pick up, because i dont see that many good choices. Yeah, the biggest problem with Finnish CS teams feels like committing and sticking together in a team, they always break up, and once a Finn gets really good they just move out of Finland to international teams. gj mouz ! lowel showed 2 things: 1) he has skill 2) he lacks progress everyone in the team stepped up but lowel. he is on the same level, or even worse, when he joined. and thats a problem when you have a big talent but crucial mistakes in your game, while everyone else, esp. a guy like ropz , but also oskar, denis or chrisj is improving.
