Gambit buy out HObbit for $100,000

After almost ten months on loan, Abay "HObbit" Khasenov has joined Gambit on a permanent basis as the CIS organization bought out his contract from Tengri for $100,000.

The news of the buyout comes shortly after Gambit’s PGL Major Krakow victory in which Abay "HObbit" Khassenov played an instrumental role, especially in the grand final. The transfer fee, which is $100,000, has become the highest transfer price in the CIS region.

Since Tengri loaned HObbit to Gambit in October, 2016, HObbit & company have won DreamHack Winter 2016, DreamHack Austin 2017, and PGL Major Krakow 2017. Gambit have also made the playoffs at the ELEAGUE Major 2017 in January.

HObbit was on loan for almost a year

Alongside his team’s success, HObbit flourished as an individual under Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko’s command, averaging 1.17 rating (2.0) in all competitions and never averaging below 1.02 rating (2.0) in offline events.

Gambit's lineup consists of:

Kazakhstan Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev
Ukraine Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko
Russia Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov
Kazakhstan Rustem "mou" Telepov
Kazakhstan Abay "HObbit" Khassenov

what? All the players of gambit came from kazakhstan/tengri .all of them is like no name compared to other player until zeus came. And if you didnt understand, the point of this article is they have paid 100k that big amount just for a tier3-5 team . that is the big deal here.

Maybe he had a 3y contract and tengri just asked for more money to sell him.
2017-08-02 18:54
Maybe after winning a major tengri org. raised the price?
2017-08-02 18:57
the buyout has nothing to do with the contract hobbit made with tengri. the buyout price is strictly between orgs and how badly gambit wanted him.

It's standard to have buyout clauses, you follow a template of a player contract, simple. I bet everyone have it. In 1.6 I got handed some player contracts on amateur level, amateurs organizations, no pay check or anything, even they had buyout clauses :O)

"i dont think hobbits contract had one" LOL. Every Org who signed a player for a period of time will of course include a buyout in case another org want to pick him before the contract end. When you signed a player for 1 year, that means you will have to pay the salary of this player during that 1 year even if he is completely trash. On the other hand you include a buyout that secure that player will play for you during that time. If a team want to break your contract and "steal" your player, then they will have to pay the buyout which is often a dissuasive amount of money. Of course they could negotiate with you to only buy a part of the buyout amount.

Wtf are you meaning ? I guess you want to say "having a buyout in the contract doesnt mean the player cant be bought out idiot" Of course teams can still buy a player even with a buyout. But the buyout is to make sure that if a team want to actually pick your player, then they will have to pay an amount of money (the buyout) or wait until the contract finished if they want to pick the player for free. If your a owner of an org and you sign contract to players without buyout, then you are retarded.
2017-08-02 23:30

Dude its not retared what are you saying.....most players in sports have contracts without buyout clause.....if you have players without buyout clause you can set asking price what you want.....for example Sk can sign cold to 5 year contract and when some1 approach to sign him you can say any amount you want but if you put like 400k buyout than if some team ia willing to pay you can lose him and without buyout you can say to other team that if they want to buy him they need to pay 1,2 or even 5 million
2017-08-03 09:27
If you dont have a buyout in your contract doesnt mean another org can just pick you...

"Technically" speaking, he is not a stand-in. Stand-in means "a person who stands in for another, especially in a match or performance; a substitute". Hobbit wasn't "standing in" or "substituting" for another person. Gambit just had the four others contracted as players. He wasn't officially Gambit, I'll agree with you on that part, but he also wasn't really a stand-in.

Yeah, we have straight translation for that but I might be retarded because I think it means that you're basically paying for getting to kick someone out of the organization. So basically, in this case I think "Gambit buys IN Hobbit" would sound more right.

Decide not to buy him out, just keep renting him ... for more money 6. Watch him increase in value even more rapidly as he rises to stardom 7. Buy him out? Nah keep renting him. 8. Qualify for a Major 9. It'd be smart to buy him out at this point, wouldn't it? 10. WOULDN'T IT?! 11. Win a motherfucking Major 12. Buy him out now, for 100 times more than you would have when you rented him initially 13. Drink yourself to death
