Gambit buy out HObbit for $100,000
After almost ten months on loan, Abay "HObbit" Khasenov has joined Gambit on a permanent basis as the CIS organization bought out his contract from Tengri for $100,000.
The news of the buyout comes shortly after Gambit’s PGL Major Krakow victory in which Abay "HObbit" Khassenov played an instrumental role, especially in the grand final. The transfer fee, which is $100,000, has become the highest transfer price in the CIS region.
Since Tengri loaned HObbit to Gambit in October, 2016, HObbit & company have won DreamHack Winter 2016, DreamHack Austin 2017, and PGL Major Krakow 2017. Gambit have also made the playoffs at the ELEAGUE Major 2017 in January.
Alongside his team’s success, HObbit flourished as an individual under Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko’s command, averaging 1.17 rating (2.0) in all competitions and never averaging below 1.02 rating (2.0) in offline events.
