Tempo Storm sign ex-paiN & Swedish team
Tempo Storm have announced that they are back in full force in the Counter-Strike scene with the signings of a Brazilian and a Swedish team.
The announcement marks the return of the North American organisation to the scene, more than a year after selling their Brazilian squad to Immortals.
Tempo Storm have decided to stick with the philosophy that earned them success in the past as they have secured the services of the former paiN team, who finished 5th-6th at the most recent Americas Minor before leaving the Brazilian organisation to pursue their careers elsewhere.
Last month, the team was dealt a heavy blow as they lost two of their members, including star player Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes, to Luminosity. To fill the vacant spots, the team turned to Lucas "DeStiNy" Bullo and Bruno "shz" Martinelli, who had been released by Luminosity following the recent changes to their squad.
Team captain Denis "dzt" Fischer stated that he hopes his team will build on the success of Tempo Storm's previous roster and set his sights on qualifying for the ESL Pro League.
"The most important tournament that I ever played in was the Americas Minor at Santa Ana, CA – I felt like that was the first step to put us out in the public eye and open doors for us in the United States," he told Tempo Storm's website.
"Playing for Tempo Storm is such a good opportunity – the structure is amazing, and the history between Tempo Storm and Brazilian players is really good! Our main goal right now is to qualify for EPL and one day play at the Major."
Meanwhile, Tempo Storm have picked up a Swedish team featuring the core of the old Rogue Academy squad plus Jesper "JW" Wecksell's brother, Linus "Limpone" Wecksell, who recently won the Nordic Edition of GAMERZ Season 1, and Fredrik "elo" Annerström, who was on the losing team in the reality show's grand final.
Just like its Brazilian counterpart, the Swedish squad will be living in the United States, where they will hope to work their way up the ladder into the professional divisions.
"I'm super excited about forming an alliance with Tempo Storm," Limpone said. "Ever since the first phases of communication started with Hampus and Andrey (reynad), they've seemed super committed to the idea of having us develop under Tempo Storm.
"We all share the same mindset and values, so I can't think of a better organization with which to start this journey."
