BLAST Pro Series reveal 2018 event in the US
RFRSH Entertainment have revealed that their next event will be hosted in the United States and feature teams primarily from North and South America.
RFRSH Entertainment have recently stepped into the world of organizing tournaments by launching the BLAST Pro Series whose first edition will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark in November.
The event organizers have announced four of the six invited teams that will participate in the $250,000 event. North, Astralis, NIP, and FaZe will be in the Danish capital on the twenthy-fourth and twenty-fifth of November.
RFRSH have now unveiled their plans for the future, announcing that their next event will be held in the US. Although the exact location for the next BLAST Pro Series event hasn't been disclosed, it has been revealed that the participating teams would be primarily from the North and South American regions.
In his statement, the company's CEO Nikolaj Nyholm touched on the event's format which allows three matches to be played simultaneously in the group stage:
"By changing the format and inviting 6 teams only, we can present an explosive and compact event, where all fans, partners and rightsholders can plan ahead, and fans can be sure to experience their favourite team live on stage. The final and decisive round of group stage matches will be played 3 matches at a time, on screen in the arena, with one main match on Red Zone Main Screen." said Nikolaj Nyholm, the CEO of RFRSH Entertainment.
"Normally it is not possible to experience the final qualification live, and half the teams won’t even be in the arena, but we're trying to change that by the new format."
Nikolaj Nyholm stated that they are looking to present three to four additional events in 2018 to make the BLAST Pro Series "a truly global event.":
"BLAST Pro Series has been the centre of a lot of attention from many sides, and in connection with the launch of the format in Copenhagen, we will host a number of representatives from more than 20 international cities, who are all interested in experiencing the latest live format within esports.
Already now, we are in dialogue with a number of cities including Miami, New York, Austin and others, and we are looking to present BLAST Pro Series in the US in the early months of 2018.
At every BLAST Pro Series live event, we will always present some of the world's top teams, including regional favourites. This means that teams for the coming US event primarily will present some of the best teams of North and South America, just like we're presenting some of the top EU teams in Copenhagen.
Following the World Premiere in November and negotiations with relevant cities, we aim at presenting 3-4 additional events for 2018, making the BLAST Pro Series a truly global event."
More information about the events including the exact date and locations will be revealed in the upcoming months.
