ESL penalize OpTic for missing roster submission deadline

ESL have announced that ten percent of OpTic's earnings from ESL Pro League Season 6 will be deducted as they failed to submit their team's roster before the deadline.

ESL have recently made a decision concerning the North American organization as it ruled that OpTic could play in the North American division of the Pro League with their new European squad if they can "provide a plan outlining how they guarantee that the majority of their Pro League matches will be played from North America."

Today, ESL made another ruling about OpTic as they didn't submit their roster before the deadline.

mixwell & co. will lose 10% of their earnings

According to the statement released by ESL, this matter was deemed a "major incident" by the league administration and the WESA commissioner.

The roster submission deadline for ESL Pro League Season 6 was initially August 15 but it was later extended to August 17. OpTic failed to submit their roster despite this extension. Additionally, OpTic have received one major penalty point in accordance with point 8.2 of the league's rulebook.

It's not really Optic's fault. PENTA were just too stubborn to give HS before the deadline. Maybe this way in purpose, who knows.
2017-09-01 17:46
From an outside perspective, Optic was a mess since Stanislaw left. First not getting an accurate IGL, then failing to submit their roster in time. First of all, they should have avoided a situation, were they are dependent on another org releasing a player.

Well to be fair on Optics part, they were supposed to aquire and receive HS before the deadline. PENTA and optic had already agreed on a buyout but PENTA didn't hand him over on time like they should have, instead they held him back despite the deal.

How is this deserved? PENTA was keeping HS from joining because he had to attend some worthless tier irrelevant tournament with them. If anything, PENTA deserves to go bankrupt for being shitty dealers. But yes, this is unavoidable. Just sad that they have to be penalized because an organisation is too idiotic and self-absorbed to look at the bigger picture. But no surprise really with a bad industry standard. No rulesets for so many things.

Yeah, they gotta get the team together before they face some real enemies. So far they only played shitty tier 3/4 teams that take part in the major NA leagues

yup...it is a good warmup but they need real practice. NA has some talent but just not enough, but they can practice on CLG, C9, and Liquid and then we will see how they stackup. I think they will be very good

I agree. I want to see if Friburg is a good IGL I think he can do it...they sure have the firepower as long as they can work together and execute. Plus it would be awesome to see all these players that were "problems" dominate

Fair enough, ESL was nice enough to pardon their roster changes prior to the deadline, so this doesn't come as much of a surprise. Best of luck to mixwell though, guy deserves a T1 team and I was surprised he wasn't one of the players chased by FaZe who elected to recruit two ghosts of the past.

They could careless. %10 is nothing when compaired to not being able to play at all. They all were informed before hand. They all agreed to do it, if they didn't we all would of heard about this long before. They knew what they were doing
