Gambit win Group A opener against Heroic

Gambit won their Group A opening match against Heroic without too many issues, 16-7, on Mirage.

The first round of Mirage went the way of Heroic, as the Danish-Swedish squad was able to win a 4vs3 after plant and defuse the bomb. The following round, however, went the way of the Kazakh-Russian side, as Gambit won the pistol buy without losing a single player. The CIS side then took the following two anti-ecos before dropping the first buy round.

With 3-3 on the board, a triple by Bektiyar "fitch" Bahytov and double by Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev kept Gambit in the lead. From there on out, there was nothing Heroic could do to stop Abay "Hobbit" Khasenov & co., as the Kazakh-Russian ran away with the half, dominating the terrorist side, 11-4.

fitch’s firepower helped Gambit win their opening match

The second half started with Gambit taking the pistol round, and Heroic forcing UMPs in the second round. Rustem "mou" Telepov clutched a 1vs2 and defused the bomb to win that around, and Heroic forced once again.

Heroic won three rounds to get up to seven, but Gambit got onto match point, 15-7, and forced the Danish-Swedish side on an eco. The last round was a fast push by Heroic, but Gambit were ready and closed it 16-7, for a spot in the winners’ match.
