LOMME & glace leave North Academy
Frederik "LOMME" Nielsen and Nicolai "glace" Jensen are no longer part of North Academy, the Danish organisation has revealed.
The Danish duo had been on North's books since the creation of the academy roster, in April, with the team raising eyebrows at their debut event, Copenhagen Games, where they finished 5th-8th after defeating eXtatus and LDLC in the group stage.
However, North Academy's results since the Summer break have been underwhelming, with third-fourth placed finishes at the Binary Dragons Prestige LAN and Cross Border Esport 2017 raising alarm bells.
In a statement, Nicolai "glace" Jensen explains that the long break took its toll on the team, and as tension reached a boiling point North decided to cut ties with two of the players.
"It is with mixed feelings that LOMME and I are leaving North Academy," glace said. "Before the player break, we were playing amazing CS, and was on the climb to become something great, but unfortunately we ended up having an eight-week break due to conflicting vacations, caused by us being a newly formed team.
"After the break, it didn't really seem like we could find our groove again, despite trying really hard.
"The fall-out in results and the accompanying tension in the team couldn't be properly solved, but we split ways with no hard feelings, and I want to thank both North, but also ave, mertz, acoR and gade for the 6 months."
The Danish team currently have:
