TeamOne CEO: "Immortals thought trk & Maluk3 were too expensive"

TeamOne CEO Alexandre "kakavel" Peres has revealed that Immortals were put off by his asking price for duo Pedro "Maluk3" Campos and Alencar "trk" Rossato.

Immortals had identified the TeamOne duo as replacements for Henrique "HEN1" Teles and Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles, and engaged in talks with the Brazilian organisation right after the twin brothers requested to be moved to the bench.

However, as talks dragged on interminably, Immortals were forced to add Tempo Storm duo Bruno "shz" Martinelli and Lucas "DeStiNy" Bullo to their ESL Pro League roster to prevent disqualification from the tournament as they were also shunned in their attempt to lure Gustavo "yel" Knittel away from Luminosity.

Maluk3 was on Immortals' list

With the Major finalists due to unveil Caio "zqkS" Fonseca and DeStiNy as permanent members, the TeamOne owner confirmed an approach from Immortals, who ended up being priced out of a move for his players.

"[Immortals CEO] Noah Whinston and [coach] Rafael "zakk" Fernandes spoke to me about buying out the two players," Mr. Peres told ESPN Esports Brasil.

"I said that they were not for sale and that, if the players were interested, Immortals would have to meet their release clauses, which they deemed too expensive.

"The negotiations with me were very smooth, but they experienced some difficulties because they wanted a transfer by a figure that matches the reality of the international market.

"So they talked to Maluk3 and tried to convince him to force a price cut."

Led by former mibr duo Bruno "bit" Lima and Rafael "pava" Pavanelli, TeamOne are widely regarded as the best Brazilian team that has not yet moved to North America in search for new opportunities. At the recent ESEA Season 25 Global Challenge, TeamOne went out 5th-6th following a close 16-14 defeat against Rise Nation in the group's decider match.

The TeamOne owner added that he is currently in talks with potential partners for 2018 with a view to improving the squad's conditions and funding a move to the United States - where they will stay for at least a year.

"Everything is heading in the right direction with a partner that should help us with that," he noted.

"I'd rather not say too much, and announce it only when everything is settled."

Funny how IMT org is holding 3 players hostage on contract with super expensive buyouts. But when another team asks for 20% to buy 2 of their players he thinks it's expensive. I have this little lesson for you Mr. CEO: Supply & Demand.

doesn't matter, they could have won the major and I would still be able to 1v5 16-0 those favela n00bs
2017-10-02 21:24
By beating Vega Squadron, a complete fluke at the major; Natus Vincere, who is getting shittier and shittier all the time; Flipsid3, again, a complete fluke to even be present at the major; BIG, who only did anything on Inferno, and they won in a BO3, so Inferno wasn't gonna win BIG the series alone; and Virtus.Pro, who has been a dead team walking for, what...at least 7 months now? Any decent team they faced at the major (i.e. SK and Astralis) they lost against. Yeah, they were lucky and got into the finals of a major. You have to put that into perspective, though.

you have to take into consideration that they wasted a lot of money before with fnx and that didnt work out, now the same happened with hen1, lucas1 and kng, they probably had to waste more money paying kng's release clause, they dont want to waste more money on something that can fall apart again

I just don't think it was that high. if it really was then the TeamOne CEO should think twice about running a organisation. If they need money, and only have a POSSIBLE investor, that allows them to stay in NA for only ONE year i would think about selling those guys. They're a smaller organisation, and as all other small organisations they know the money should come from selling talents. As i see it, the TeamOne CEO doesn't know how to run a proper business if that's the case. I know Immortals had the money. They have earnings for more than 750.000$, and even tho' most of it goes for the players, no business with those earnings would have a low budget. I just don't think Noah wanted to spend a decent amount of money, because he haven't got anything for either fnx, hen1, lucas1 or kng. It is understandable. But if he has dreams about coming back to the old level, this seems like a even worse investment.
2017-10-02 22:05
we dont know how big plans of teamone are...maybe he(their ceo) wants to do as much as possible for his players and he hope that it will pay off in the future+we dont know who is that investor and how much will he invests. i wouldnt judge him and i wouldnt say that "doesn't know how to run a proper business" if i dont know all details, plans and stuff. btw look at hr,f3 and even vega.these teams didnt want to sell their players either.

STFU IMT was paying to FNX when he wasn't even playing, they kicked kNg (thing that they did right) and they should have payed him something, same goes with the twins. Sad that things didn't work out for the players and the org, both were kinda guilty. Even for eSports orgs is difficult to get players, just think how bad IMT org need the players to stay in leagues, they were getting invited to good LANs and they can only go for Brazilian players because they don't wanna lose boltz&steel. If the team was an NA squad they could easily pick some premier players without org but BR players tryna get rich with only one sign.
2017-10-04 15:57
brazilian scene is still growing and doing fine just a shame that Noah prefers to let everyone get ahead, instead of trying to stay a top team like his previous major finalist squad that he destroyed, and then cheap out and not pay proper player transfer to make it good again whatever Noah is smoking, I dont want it

The reality is no good BR player wants to get anywhere close to IMT's emotional CEO. yel promptly declined joining them. Didn't even reached negotiation phase. They better settle with a mixed BR/NA roster with Boltz and steel.
2017-10-03 04:57
first of all this talk about investments and going to NA, team one been talking this for long time and never did shit players that live in br cant even live 100% from cs cuz salarys as trash, everything is trash, so if a guy really lives alone, pay everything alone, he cant live by playing cs in 99% of the time. those team one players are shit and overated, so would be a huge oportunity to them to prove themselfs and grow as player, so FUCK teamone for locking those guys!! using lg or tempo storm players the final imt lineup will be better than with those team one players and at the end of the day theres no way to make imt a good team, doesnt matter the line... without SK and ex imt players, br scene is tier3 at the best scenario. so basicly noah got fucked no matter what... and fuck team one for locking the players!!!!

Never heard of team one in my life.

If you take their players buyout and divide it by their current yearly salary, is that number less than or greater than 15?

Why don't take the offer and get a 30% cut for every tournament prize money from each player for 2 years or rent them out for few tournaments. What has team one actually achieved so far?
