Cloud9 advance to ELEAGUE Premier semis over G2

Striker
October 10th, 2017 22:35

In the first quarter-final of ELEAGUE Premier playoffs, Cloud9 defeated G2 2-0 (Cobblestone 16-12, Inferno 16-8) on their way to the semis.

Cobblestone kicked off the first quarter-final of ELEAGUE Premier, with G2 grabbing the better start after winning the second-round forcebuy for a 3-1 lead as Terrorists. Jake "Stewie2K" Yip's two triples, as well as Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham's 1v1 clutch, then tilted the scales in Cloud9's favor, but that didn't last long.

G2 slowly took over the half with a variety of B attacks, which awarded them four out of the next five rounds, while the last two were split evenly between the teams, with the Frenchmen leading 9-6 following a 1v2 from Richard "shox" Papillon.

Will "RUSH" Wierzba stepped up to the plate with three kills in the second pistol round, equalizing the score at nine apiece, but G2 were the ones to take over in the first gunrounds, much thanks to Kenny "kennyS" Schrub's ace.

Cloud9 made short work of G2 in the first quarter-final

However, individual heroics from Timothy "autimatic" Ta, Stewie2K, and Skadoodle who clutched another duel, helped the American squad secure seven rounds in a row, allowing them to win their opponents' pick 16-12.

Inferno saw Cloud9 getting up to a 3-0 lead early on the offense, but their attacks towards A in the first gunround came to no fruition, as G2 strung together five rounds. Adjusted A executes, with Tarik "tarik" Celik sneaking into pit through a wall of smoke twice in a row, helped Cloud9 regain their lead at 7-5 and eventually switch over to the CT side at 8-7.

The American side won the fourth pistol round in a row and proceeded to lose the next anti-forcebuy yet again, but they opted for a force of their own in the third round to retake control of the economy. On the back foot, G2 were unable to convert a few promising situations and found themselves in a poor economic situation following a questionable force at 12-8. Cloud9 took no time to close things out, advancing to the semi-finals at 16-8, 2-0.

G2 would have won cobble if they had zywoo or kio, then would have had motivation for inferno lul
2017-10-10 22:38
bodyy just could not catch a new breath :// I'd want to see nV with Ex6 and K1o and G2 with ZyW0o or actually any other consistent player instead of bodyy :) ye he had great games, but those -10+ were much moooooooooore
2017-10-10 22:40
Ikr the best he ever does is when he has 15 frags along with every other player on his team. Zywoo could actually have good games
2017-10-10 22:41
Yes they need a change -bodyy +zywoo -nbk +s1mple :)))))
2017-10-11 02:36
not -nbk, just -bodyy
2017-10-11 02:46
-nbk +k1o. Because they both are supporter, but looks like k1o is more consistent with supporting role and the way he can't get entry frag that's why people call him THE PROBLEM.
2017-10-11 04:04
i think at this moment they need another player but from other country. Why not, look at faze

Stop dreaming there will not be any changes till at least a long time. They are working on new strategies, and it takes time, as a 5 guys unit
2017-10-11 08:40
This line-up has been together for like 8 months now. How fucking backwards are you? How much time are you gonna give them before you admit they're really not working out much as the #1 French hope? Oh wait, "BaguetteHD". You're probably just a troll. gg, I guess.

They are good but way too much inconsistent, and a roster change will not help them being more consistent.

Grats to C9, but lol I have been saying for a while now G2 is overrated. They are garbage online, and as a result we only have like 2 LANs to judge them off of. I really don't get how they are ranked so high by everybody when their main tournament win was Malmo and they were bad at the major.

Yes he doesn't speak French but he speak english and all in this team speak english so it's a great replace s1mple ......and zywoo you have right he need more experience.Look at that turkish guy XANTARES or Calyx they don't speak english but they have a great future
