Gambit book ROG Masters spot after beating Seed 2-0

Gambit have qualified for ROG Masters 2017 after beating Seed 2-0 in semi-finals at the EMEA Finals (16-13 on Cobblestone and 16-2 on Train).

The second semi-final in Krefeld, Germany at the ROG Masters EMEA Finals featured Seed and Gambit The best-of-three series offered a spot at the ROG Masters World Finals.

The action kicked off on Cobblestone where Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev clutched a 1vs2 in the pistol round to give his CT-sided team the lead. Gambit won five more rounds to lead 6-0 but Seed didn't let the Kazakhstani team run away with the game (6-1).

AdreN dominated on Cobblestone

Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend won a post-plant 1vs3 to earn his team's second round but Gambit responded well and finished the first half 11-4 ahead. Jesse "zehN" Linjala's triple kill in the second half pistol round gave Seed their fifth round and opened the door for a potential comeback (11-5).

Timo "Spiidi" Richter & company trailed 14-13 as they closed the gap with their good CT-side defense and could have tied the game at 14-14 but they lost a 2vs1 against Bektiyar "fitch" Bahytov. Gambit then closed out the map with a 16-13.

Seed couldn't contend with Gambit in the second map

Gambit started Train on the T-side and won the first three rounds. Even though Seed picked up the first weapon round victory, Gambit went on a remarkable nine round streak to lead 12-1. Gambit finished the half with a 13-2 lead. Gambit closed out the game 16-2 and qualified for ROG Masters 2017.
