EPICENTER groups revealed
Epic Esports Events has revealed the groups for the 2017 edition of EPICENTER.
With the Russian event drawing near, six teams have already learned their fate in the group stage, with two spots still up for grabs as the main tournament will be preceded by a wildcard stage, featuring the winners of three regional qualifiers plus TYLOO.
SK, who could be attending the event with Ricardo "boltz" Prass, have been drawn in the same group as Virtus.pro and Major champions Gambit. This could very well turn out to be a keenly-contested group in case FaZe, the current No.1 team in the world, beat TYLOO in the wildcard qualifier.
The other group features Danish heavyweights Astralis and North, currently the No.2 and No.4 teams in the world, with G2 and the winner of the wildcard match between Liquid and Vega Squadron rounding out the list.
Running from Tuesday to Thursday, the EPICENTER group stage will feature a double-elimination group stage, with all matches being played in a best-of-three format.
The top two teams from both groups will advance to the single-elimination playoffs, which will culminate with a best-of-five final.
