boltz to play for SK at EPICENTER
Immortals member Ricardo "boltz" Prass will play for SK Gaming at EPICENTER, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo has confirmed on Instagram.
Ricardo "boltz" Prass will be filling in for João "felps" Vasconcellos, who, according to Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, "asked to step down from the team" as he "could not find joy in playing" for the squad at this moment.
However, SK's results have been far from impressive since winning ESL One Cologne, with a group stage exit at ELEAGUE Premier ultimately costing them their place at the top of the ranking.
"felps is a very talented and professional guy, he did everything he could to transform his game into something that the team needed," FalleN wrote. "That naturally caused a big change for him.
"Many people unfairly criticised him for his performances, but I have nothing to criticise, we won five tournaments together this year, and he played a key role in that process."
With talks between SK and Immortals still ongoing, FalleN stressed that boltz "is not yet an SK player". He also noted that the team will still attend some events with felps, "mainly because the timing of his exit is terrible" as the team's roster is locked in certain tournaments.
SK are unable to field boltz at the upcoming ELEAGUE Major as the 20-year-old competed in the North American closed qualifiers for the Americas Minor, which renders him ineligible to compete for any other team in the Major circuit.
EPICENTER will run from October 23-29 in St. Petersburg, with $500,000 up for grabs. SK have been drawn in Group A, alongside Virtus.pro, Gambit and the winner of the wildcard match between FaZe and TYLOO.
