AGO knock GODSENT out of Minor; to playoffs
AGO knocked GODSENT out in two maps after winning Mirage, 16-13, and Cobblestone, 16-5, for a spot in the Europe Minor playoffs.
AGO’s biggest match to date kicked off on Mirage, GODSENT’s pick, with a CT side pistol win, which the Poles were then able to follow up with an anti-eco. They were unable to win the first gun round, though, as a plant in the first round gave GODSENT the ability to go into the third round with AKs. The Swedes then followed it up and forced the Poles into a full eco. AGO, trading quickly in mid eventually took the round, but GODSENT bought again in the following round and won it to keep it tied, 3-3.
Having good economic advantage, GODSENT was able to win a few gun rounds and anti-ecos to start to run away with the first half of the first map in the best-of-three clash. Down 3-7 AGO finally got a round as Michał "snatchie" Rudzki and Mateusz "TOAO" Zawistowski quickly got their side in 5vs3 superiority with two frags to open the round. The Poles got reset once again, though, as a big mid-take gave GODSENT positional superiority and after winning their duels the Swedes closed out the round, tallying the eighth.
Down 4-11 at the half, AGO were able to win the attacking pistol round and the two anti-ecos to bring it to a 7-11 scoreline keeping the dream alive. An A execute on A with doubles by Tomasz "phr" Wójcik and Dominik "GruBy" Swiderski gave the Polish team another round, which they were able to follow up with another anti-eco. Down by two, 9-11, the round devolved into a 2vs2 with the bomb going down on B. Finally, two AWP kills by snatchie gave the round to the poles who got within one of their Swedish rivals.
Finally, GODSENT started to wake up as they were able to find the combination to stop AGO’s offenses, including a clean sweep in one round and Andreas "znajder" Lindberg and Fredrik "freddieb" Buö winning a 2vs2 retake on B to keep their lead at 13-10. The Poles didn’t give up, however, as they were able to bring it back to a 13-13. After a timout, GODSENT were unable to refocus as AGO kept their relentless offensive up to close the map out 16-13.
Cobblestone also started going the way of AGO with GruBy getting a triple in the terrorist-side pistol round to get his team ahead. Up 3-0, AGO pulled off an A split to win the first gun round and keep the rounds coming as they followed it up with yet another anti-eco. Unable to do anything to stop the Poles, GODSENT quickly found themselves down 0-7, and despite winning a round found themselves instantly reset the following round. AGO were unstoppable taking the first half 13-2.
After switching sides, GODSENT were able to win the first round of the second half, following it up with two anti-ecos. The first gun round was another story, however, as the Poles dominated the Swedes as they tried a B push to go up 14-5. Winning the following round, AGO got 10 match points, leading 15-5, and put GODSENT against the ropes. With two pistols a UMP and two AKs the Swedes were unable to do much and AGO put the lasts nail in the coffin securing a spot in the playoffs.
