Liquid beat CLG; secure last Major Main qualifier spot

Liquid bested CLG 2-0 in the Americas Minor consolidation final to book the last spot in the Major Main qualifier in Atlanta.

The battle for the last available spot at the Major Main qualifier kicked off on Inferno, with Liquid prevailing in a back-and-forth pistol round to take control of their map pick right from the start. After following that up with the corresponding anti-ecos, a successful B execution set them up for a 5-0 lead.

After losing four more rounds, CLG called a tactical pause, but they would only be able to halt Liquid's streak in the 13th round. Still, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski instantly replied with a quad-kill in a 2v5 situation, paving the way for his team to nail a dominant 14-1 half-time lead.

Liquid did not let let their foot off the pedal and started the second half by taking the pistol round. CLG came close to winning the following round, but Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken clutched a 1v3 post-plant situation to lock down the map for his team, 16-1.

ELiGE led the charge for Liquid

Pujan "FNS" Mehta's men began their map pick, Cache, by bagging the initial three rounds as Terrorists. After Liquid bought up, however, the landscape of the game changed dramatically, with Nick "nitr0" Cannella's men taking ten rounds into the second half after denying their opponents the chance to build up an economy.

Now playing on the CT-side, CLG brought the deficit to just three rounds after securing the pistol round and an anti-eco. Liquid responded with a third-round buy, thanks to Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and nitr0 clutching a 2v4 situation, with that round propelling the team to reach match point.

CLG then found a lifeline by winning five rounds in a row, but it was too little, too late, as Liquid eventually closed out the map, 16-12, and the series, 2-0, to secure their place at the Major qualifier.

Actually Liquid is on another level than SS so no chances there bruh. Calyx carrier them this minor so they managed to shit on Optic but that's as far as they can get - if their group is easy they might go through - will be hard either way ;)

Upsets happen every major qualifier so I bet you at least two big name teams won't make it through.
2017-11-06 00:15
You also forgot that somehow F3 makes it to every major. Must include spot for them
