iBP Masters groups and talent announced

The details for the upcoming tournament in Orange County, California, including the groups and the on-air lineup, have been revealed.

The $100,000 two-day LAN event that returns for the third year in a row, iBUYPOWER Masters, is set to take place at the Esports Arena in California this weekend. Eight teams from the North American region are set to compete at the tournament, which will serve as a warm-up for the following IEM Oakland.

steel returns to iBP Masters, taking on the analyst role this time

The team list includes the likes of Cloud9 who are the highest ranked team at the event, the Americas Minor winners Liquid, the Asia Minor winners Renegades and OpTic, who finished third at the European Minor in Bucharest.

Attending teams have been split into two BO1 GSL groups:

Group A Group B
United States Cloud9 United States Liquid
Australia Renegades Europe OpTic

North America NRG United States Misfits

iBUYPOWER Masters 2017 will be played out over two days, with the initial, elimination and winner matches taking place on Saturday, while the group deciders and the playoffs are set to follow on Sunday.

I would personally favor them to take 2nd in the group if they keep form they looked rather impressive at the minor

I have to agree on this. It gives them challenge and if they're able to go further then it's a boost of confidence, + shows they really are in a good form.

Yeah they have, but this event is not one of them. The groups are pretty equal imo. Renegades and Luminosity are both good teams. NRG is lacking on LAN. Misfits and OpTic are pretty good teams. CLG has been lacking on LAN

Lets go liquid!! With zews back, take this LAN! First event for me and I'm hyped, for an NA event its a pretty good set of teams! Predictions: Group A: 1st c9 | 2nd Renegades Group B: 1st Optic | 2nd Liquid Semis: Liquid > C9 Optic > Renegades Finals: Liquid > Optic
