BIG replace fnatic at DreamHack Winter

Following fnatic's decision to pull out of next month's DreamHack Open Winter, the Swedish tournament organizer announced BIG as the replacement.

fnatic have decided to skip the annual CS:GO event in Jönköping, Sweden, the team has announced today. The decision is a result of both schedule-related and personal issues, that will also see the Swedish side play the WESG EU&CIS Finals with Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin instead of Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson.

BIG will be competing at the Elmia Convention Centre

Replacing the Swedes are BIG, who finished second at DreamHack Open Denver and are currently the #18 team in our ranking.

Currently, the six invited teams are known for DreamHack Open Winter, while the last two teams will be decided by the European and North American qualifiers, which were announced yesterday.

This is how the team list looks at the moment:

France Envy Kazakhstan Gambit
Denmark Heroic Europe mousesports
Ukraine Natus Vincere Germany BIG
Europe EU Qualifier North America NA Qualifier

I legitimitley think they should redo all the invites or maybe only remove the qualifier and just invite a different swedish team to that spot
2017-11-10 15:58
They should just postpone it. Fnatic deserve to be there and I want to see them at LAN.
2017-11-10 16:09
Postpone DHW? u know it's a big lan festival going on during the event right?
2017-11-10 17:23
They can't postpone a whole dh because of the time schedule of 1 team tho
2017-11-10 17:45
As the people above me have stated - I think it's kinda impossible to postpone. It's around 30000 visitors to Dreamhack Winter. Of those 30000 visitors it's just under 17000 connected computers. :) It's kinda big so hell will probably break lose if they try to change the dates! But I still agree with you in some way since it's sad that DHW won't have a swedish team.

ah right, its 16 teams in the closed qual (And ofc only 8 teams in the closed qual right now). So yes, some Swedish team could pull through to closed qual. But idk what teams will play tho: wiki.teamliquid.net/counterstrike/DreamH.. hltv.org/events/3271/dreamhack-open-wint..

In a statement, fnatic cite "schedule-related issues and unforeseen family circumstances" as the reasons to withdraw from DreamHack Winter and to be forced to field a stand-in for Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson at the WESG Regional event. So its something with Krimz/Krimz family. Thats why they skip DHW and play WESG with Brollan.

esl pro league finals is 2 days later i think fnatic rather focus on that tbh since its a much more high prestige event. and they will prove all the haters wrong just a matter of time considering how the new lineup has looked recently
2017-11-10 16:17
PogChamp but maybe less pracc shieeet with krimz now :(

2017-11-10 16:21
Fntic dodging LAN? jk I think BIG deserve the spot cause they got into the finals of the last 2 dreamhack events they attended.
2017-11-10 16:25
Funny how Dreamhack Winter one day was one of the most important event of CS, todat it is just like ESWC or worse.
