In the third round of Group B at IEM Oakland, Renegades shocked G2 with a 16-9 win on Cobblestone, while Liquid grabbed their second overtime victory after a tough Mirage versus Gambit.

Squaring off against G2 on Cobblestone, Renegades went on a massive streak towards the beginning of their second match at IEM Oakland, grabbing the pistol and the first few gunrounds as Terrorists. Coupled with several anti-eco rounds, Keith "NAF" Markovic's side went up 8-0 before the French squad found a way to their first.

Despite losing the next two rounds, G2 finally recovered on the back of a quad-kill in a forcebuy from Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt, who added six more kills to his score en route to five rounds in the first half.

NAF led the way in Renegades' upset win

Winning the pistol round, Renegades fended off a forcebuy attempt from G2 and continued to close the distance to the upset and their first win at IEM Oakland. Richard "shox" Papillon's men found themselves up against the ropes at 5-15, at which point they secured four rounds in a row, but they then ran into a forcebuy as Renegades closed things out 16-9.

In the other match of Group B's third round, Liquid went up 4-1 as Terrorists on Mirage, although Gambit quickly took control of the match after Bektiyar "fitch" Bahytov's four kills in a low forcebuy. A few more individual heroics and one massive read later, Gambit secured 10 rounds on the defense.

The Kazakh team looked to extend their lead with a pistol round victory, but Liquid replied with a forcebuy and eventually equalized the score at 11-11.

Liquid grab another overtime win after a stressful match against Gambit

The next four rounds were split evenly but it was Liquid who gained the advantage with an anti-eco win at 14-13 before Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev clutched a 1v1 to even things out once more. Rustem "mou" Telepov's amazing quad-kill in a 3v5 situation sent Gambit to match point, which decimated Liquid's economy, but the North American team brought it back against all odds and took the match to overtime with a stellar defense on A.

Josh "jdm64" Marzano's quad-kill started his team's journey to a perfect first half in the overtime.Gambit replied with a 2v4 retake on the B bombsite at the start of the second half, but they couldn't turn around another disadvantageous situation, as Liquid grabbed two points to Gambit's one in the overtime victory.

-bodyy +scream I think is the best change because in g2 right now is not a one man show. Scream is the only one man show and g2 dont have a entry fragger.

apEX is historically the best entry fragger in CS:GO, he is better than both classic (friberg, byali, flusha/jw...), and the new ones (TACO, LUCAS1, H0bbit..)

apEX hasn't been great in a while now. The "new generation" enfry fraggers are very superior, like Rain or so. G2 needs an IGL so Shox can frag, he's the second best player in the team and yet can't show anything because of his role.

Apex right now is not in the best form. He is an impass, in g2 not exist chemistry, only stars. Apex is one of the best entry fragger but g2 need new one and rpk is the best choice.

I couldnt watch Liquid vs Gambit, i fell asleep, cause it was 1 A.M. in Brazil.. But i just woke up and checked the result.. Really happy TL won and happy for Steel "man". He really deserves all the success. I cant believe he outfragged twistzz on mirage.. I believe even twistzz is happy with his new teammate fragging more than him.
