Grayhound win ZEN League S2 Finals

The second season of the Asia-Pacific event has come to an end, with Grayhound reigning supreme over Tainted Minds in the grand final of ZEN League Season 2 Finals in Sydney, Australia.

The ROG Masters 2017 Asia-Pacific champions 5POWER could not attend the ZEN League Finals due to visa issues, so the CGPL Spring winners Tainted Minds went on their behalf.

Day one of the Australian event witnessed the elimination of Asia's first seed MVP PK, who were quickly disposed of by the Australians — Grayhound and Kings — in the upper bracket semi-final and lower bracket final 2-0, respectively.

Grayhound win their first LAN in Australia

In the upper bracket final, Grayhound narrowly edged past Yaman "⁠yam⁠" Ergenekon and company in a three-map thriller, with the last map going to all thirty rounds. With this result, Grayhound secured a best-of-three advantage in the grand final, while the lower bracket team will need to win two best-of-three matches in order to become the event's champions.

Heading into day two, Chris "⁠emagine⁠" Rowlands' Kings became the second squad to be eliminated from the event, suffering another defeat to Tainted Minds in the consolidation final, following their earlier 1-2 loss during the semis.

In the first best-of-three match of the grand final, both teams won their map picks, with Mark "⁠deStiny⁠" Kagan's crew securing the third map on Overpass 16-10, pushing the grand final to another set.

After ten hours of competitive matches, Mike "⁠ap0c⁠" Aliferis' side ran out of gas against the Australian-Mongolian-Kiwi mixture Grayhound 2-1 in the deciding series.
