WESG EU & CIS Regional Finals semi-finalists decided
Day three of the WESG EU & CIS Regional Finals has been brought to an end, with Space Soldiers, GODSENT, fnatic and Ukraine advancing to the semi-finals.
The third day of the tournament in Spain brought eight BO3 matches, four of which decided the last quarter-finalists, and then the four quarter-finals themselves. With the exception of BIG going out to the Ukraine mix, most of the first game went as expected, setting us up for the quarter-finals to start.
Space Soldiers and Envy had a rematch of the European Minor grand final in the first one, with the Turkish side once again ending on top, picking up a comfortable 2-0 win. Meanwhile, Wololos played against Ukraine on the main stage, managing another miraculous comeback on Overpass, but falling 2-1in maps to Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and co. in the end.
AGO - fnatic followed, with the Swedes coming into the matchup reinvigorated after a strong showing against Russia earlier in the day. After walking over the Polish side on map one, Train, Robin "flusha" Rönnquist's team edged out Mirage in overtime to advance to the semis.
The final game was between GODSENT and Belgium, where Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom put up some resistance on the first map, Mirage, but it wasn't enough and GODSENT closed it out 16-12. Nuke followed, where Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans led by example, topping the scoreboard in 16-12 win. The series was decided on Cache, where GODSENT ran over the Belgians with a perfect 16-0 scoreline.
