ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals schedule released

November 27th, 2017 13:58

The organizers have revealed the full schedule of ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals, taking place from December 5-10 in Odense, Denmark.

The tournament will have 12 teams on display, fighting for $750,000 in prizemoney in the Sparekassen Fyn Arena in Denmark's third-largest city, Odense.

FaZe will kick off ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals with their opening match against fnatic

The first two days of competition will be played without audience behind closed doors, with the following groups played out in a round-robin, best-of-one format customary to Pro League Finals and other events organized by ESL. The teams were distributed into groups Yellow and Red by the teams themselves, following a new system introduced by the organizers:

Group Yellow Group Red
Sweden fnatic Europe OpTic
Europe FaZe Brazil SK
Denmark Astralis Denmark North
United States Liquid Sweden NiP
Europe HellRaisers   United States Misfits
Brazil Luminosity North America NRG

The groups will follow an adjusted points system, with overtime matches awarding two points to the winner and one point to the loser. First-placed teams will earn a direct ticket to semi-finals, with second and third-placed teams advancing to quarter-finals.

After an off-day on Thursday, the tournament will move to the arena stage with the playoffs, beginning with the two quarter-finals on Friday, followed by the semi-finals on Saturday, and the best-of-five grand final on championship Sunday.

The messups weren't just on Friday like don't get me wrong I liked the vision and the ambition of the event organizers but it was a little bit of a disaster at times. There were casters casting the wrong game, the overlays were glitchy as hell early on (thankfully they more or less worked well by the final but still). That event definitely could've gone better.

Of course you would, even just for some laughs and banter:) no doubt But imo he wont think about it, just play and win If you win, that's gonna be even better And of course that's a topic of discussion for fans etc:P

Sure, friberg I think is focused on winning regardless of who he's facing. But should be great for us fans anyways! I'm NiP fan as well. But at the same time love allu n friberg. Should be a great game!

Friberg was most probably kicked rather than willingly stepping down. He didn't play last match in NIP before stepping down. He didn't even congratulated NIP or any other player on recent IEM Oakland win. So I guess he might have that anger for revenge.

Group of death is a group with more teams who have chance to qualify than spots available. 3 spots and 3 clear winners. Red group has SK as top 5 other teams, any of which can qualify. So red group should be group of death! Explain me how you think yellow group is please? :/

On group yellow the only team that has almost 100% chance of going to the quarters is FaZe. Astralis is without dev1ce and dennis probably won't replace him. Liquid cannot play with stell then zews will replace him. And fnatic is also not looking that consistent.

I mean fnatic topped EU group afaik. I'm sure they can definitely qualify. As for Astralis, they should qualify even with just 4 players (zonic ain't that bad), liquid probably rip as well. But I don't think LG and HR can do much here. That's what I think. But who knows what kind of upsets we are up for.

In Odense almost every bar is located centrally in the middle of the city. Depending on where you are staying during your time here you should know taxi's are really expensive way of getting around :)
2017-11-27 14:23
I'm at First Hotel Grand. I don't really plan to use taxis unless necessary. Being swiss, I can tell you, I know what expensive means :P

Odense is a pretty nice town to get wasted. I used to attend the university there. Its a pretty young town, in terms of population, and you can get pretty much all you want, from 4 euro beers to 15 euro cocktails, and everything in between. The foodscene is quite nice as well, you can look at TripAdvisor for good recommendations. I personally favour "no 61", a bistro given the title of best bistro '15 or '16 and a Japanese place called goma, which features the best sushi ive had in europe, and some awesome cocktails aswell. both of which are quite expensive but equally awesome! If you want some awesome cocktails with fair prices you should visit barrar. All 3 places are within 75 meters of eachother!
