CyberPowerPC Extreme Gaming Series Winter 2017 announced

Eight North American teams have been invited to the $25,000 CyberPowerPC Winter Invitational, that will take place online on December 1-2.

Another Extreme Series event, hosted by CEVO and sponsored by CyberPowerPC, is set to take place at the beginning of next month.

After the last two editions of the Extreme Gaming Series Invitationals, that were won by OpTic and Misfits, the prize pool has been bumped up from $15,000 to $25,000. The rest of the competition has mainly stayed the same, with eight teams battling it out in a single-elimination BO3 bracket over the course of two days.

With most of North America's top teams not taking part, Cloud9 are the big favorites for EGS Winter

CyberPowerPC Extreme Gaming Series Winter Invitational will feature the likes of Cloud9 and CLG, as well interesting squads such as GX and Torqued, with the full team list available below:

United States Cloud9 United States CLG
United States Splyce North America Ghost
United States SoaR Argentina Gale Force
United States GX United States Torqued

A talent line-up consisting of four casters: Dust "dusT" Mouret, Keith "SeasideCS" LaFortune, Hugo Byron, Mark "Boq" Wilson, and Charles "ChazGG" St Clair as the observer will be covering the action at CyberPower's Twitch channel. The tournament will be played out in two days, following the schedule below:

Friday, December 1st
22:00 United States Splyce vs. Argentina Gale Force BO3
00:30 United States Cloud9 vs. United States Torqued BO3
03:00 United States CLG vs. United States GX BO3
05:30 North America Ghost vs. United States SoaR BO3
Saturday, December 2nd
23:00 Semi-final #1 BO3
01:30 Semi-final #2 BO3
04:00 Grand final BO3

Top four teams will share the $25,000 dolars, with a large majority of the prize pool going to the two highest placed teams:

1. $14,000
2. $8,000
3-4. $1,500

xd edit: eZaF for FaZe even they're not there

pricepool is less than Cloud9 week salary wtf
2017-11-29 01:06
yeah, but if they aren't going anywhere it is good practice, and probably fun since they all seem to like playing with each other.
2017-11-29 01:22
Well also for that salary to be possible they need to attend tournaments to spread the brand name, but your point too.
2017-11-29 02:28
ye, I was going by why the players would want to, just like my team would play in discord leagues, the comp is easier so you can play stress free and have some fun. imo that is when the best moments are made, with like weird knifes and stuff.

Because they represent Latin America, where it is a very complicated place to live with the esports, and they were able to travel to the United States after many years of fighting for this dream. Maybe you do not understand the passion of Latin America (especially Argentina) so that everything progresses!

Cloud9 loves to win tier 2 events. In this case, a tier 4. I mean, i like this new cloud9's line up, they have a lot of potential and fire power, but they need to give the next step into the top tier teams (sk,astralis,G2, Faze). Today i see c9 in a tier 2 with nip, liquid, fnatic, north, gambit, vp, navi, mouse, and envy.
2017-11-29 05:17
Except the part where recent c9 is better than sk or g2. Tier 1 is faze astralis and thats it rn Tier 2 c9 g2 nip sk gambit north, navi Everyone else you named is tier 3

Agree tbh and now with dickface dazed gone I don't see a reason why they shouldn't. There was some drama between steel and dapr if I remember but they should get over it.
2017-11-29 17:50
Swag and azk do not want to play with steel. Only choice is to cut 1 of dapr/pollo/azk And pick up stan/fns with witmer just main awping. Azk isnt getting cut so its between pollo and dapr and dapr seems to frag harder. Otherwise they just roll with this lineup until an na shuffle
2017-12-02 01:53
