mousesports to ECS semis over OpTic

mousesports have secured their place in the ECS Season 4 semi-finals following a 2-0 win over OpTic (Nuke 16-7, Train 16-12).

On the first map of the series, OpTic were the ones to grab the better start as Terrorists, picking up the pistol and the following anti-force. As the previous round ended up with just one of OpTic's players surviving, mousesports opted for another half-buy and shut down a ramp push from their opponents to equalize the score at 2-2.

OpTic then replied with a forcebuy win of their own and reached their fifth round before Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný's 1v2 clutch set off a flurry of rounds going his team's way. mousesports' repelled every attack from there on out with ease, aside from two rounds that ended in 2v2 situations, closing out the half at 10-5 in their favor.

Securing the pistol round, Chris "chrisJ" de Jong's men picked up where they left off and got to map point at 15-5, and it didn't take long for them to finish off the first map three rounds later.

mousesports to face Astralis in the semi-finals

Playing as Terrorists on Train, mousesports clinched the first pistol, but they had trouble facing low buys at the beginning as Kevin "HS" Tarn wreaked havoc in round two and three. Soon the score was even at 2-2, when Robin "ropz" Kool & co. started taking control of the half with a few lower executes.

It wasn't until six rounds later that OpTic managed a reply, but with only one player surviving, mousesports were quickly back on the reins and grabbed the remaining four rounds for a 12-3 lead.

With the pistol going the way of Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov's squad, OpTic decided to save completely in the second round to buy up in the third, which worked out for the time being as they began closing the gap. Fending off a few dangerous retake scenarios, Adam "friberg" Friberg's men clawed back to 12-14 with nine rounds in a row.

Their efforts ended up being all for naught, however. It took a defuse in a smoke in a 2v3 situation for mousesports to reach match point and they secured the series and a spot in the semis in the next round.

I'm sad optic wasnt able to play to their potential but I'm glad mousesports was able to close it out. Ultimately I wanted both of these teams to go through but that couldn't happen

What a shame, Optic. I don't think friberg or ImAPet needed in this team, because I don't see any improvements since last month. Same stewpid mistakes.
