FaZe ease past fnatic, advance to ECS final

FaZe defeated fnatic in comfortable fashion (2-0; Overpass 16-7, Train 16-11) in the second semi-final of ECS Season 4, joining mousesports in the grand final.

The second semi-final of ECS Season 4 Finals began on Overpass. The first half was a show of FaZe's abilities, as the European mixture battered on the Swedes with aggression on the CT side, with Håvard "rain" Nygaard ruling over bathroom and around fountain. The only two rounds fnatic won throughout the first half was Jesper "JW" Wecksell's 1v3 in the sixth on the B bombsite, plus the very last round of the half on A.

rain's triple then secured FaZe their 14th round after the sides switched, and although fnatic replied in the second round as Robin "flusha" Rönnquist and Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson put up doubles, it was only a matter of time before Finn "karrigan" Andersen's men finished things off. That they did at 16-7, shortly after JW got another clutch to his name.

fnatic could do nothing to stop rain on Overpass

On Train, it was fnatic who got off to the better start as CT despite losing the pistol round, as they won the following forcebuy and topped it off with two more up against low buys.

KRIMZ then won a 1v3 clutch to push the Swedes to 6-1 after numerous close rounds, which allowed FaZe to break their economy with just one round in return. Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer & co. clawed back to 4-6 before JW grabbed five kills with the AWP over the next two rounds, helping fnatic secure a 9-6 half.

The second half was all FaZe. rain started it off with a triple in the pistol round, while olofmeister shone in the first gunrounds, defusing the bomb in a 1v2 and winning another 1v1 clutch for 12-9. The European squad continued to dominate on the defense, grabbing match point three rounds afterwards. fnatic finally got their first round then, and another as FaZe opted to eco, but it was too little too late as karrigan's team came out victorious at 16-11.

Another great performance from rain Honestly I think he's been the best player on faze these past few months, and I think his performance is strong enough to make up for his poor start to the year and put him in the top 5 players for the year

I dont know man, Fer does not have Niko or Rain highlights but he is a fucking beast carrying SK all year, he will be top 3 for sure 2017.
2017-12-18 01:07
im strictly talking about the current state of things. i do agree that overtime fer definately got more impact on how his team played throughout the course of 2017, but rn I don't see him being as much of a break through player as he was earlier. still that won't take anything away from him.
