WESG APAC groups drawn

The draw for the group stage of the WESG 2017 Asia-Pacific (APAC) Regional Finals has been made, with the 20 competing teams having been split into four groups.

Taking place at the Fangyuan Sports Centre in Jiaozhou, China, from January 11-14, the APAC stop will feature 20 teams, who were determined by a series of online and regional qualifiers, held online and on LAN.

In addition to the $92,500 prize pool, the teams will square off for the six available spots at the WESG global finals, which will feature a whopping $1.5 million prize fund.

Gambit drawn in the same group as B.O.O.T

It is believed that the tournament will feature the same format from the EU & CIS Regional stop, with a best-of-one round-robin group stage leading to a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket.

Major champions Gambit, who will attend the event with Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov as a stand-in, headline the tournament, which features other big-hitters like ORDER, Flash and MVP PK.

Yea possibly wouldnt bet against them. Aside from the big favourites in Gambit, any one of those other teams could go through from that pool. Just feel BOOT-DS has the LAN experience and firepower to edge out the others.
