eXtatus earn a MDL playoff spot by beating SoaR
eXtatus beat SoaR 16-9 on Train to claim the first place in group B and advance to the playoffs of the MDL S26 Global Challenge LAN.
The group B decider match took place on Train, where eXtatus were quick to pick up the Terrorist pistol round win. The Slovak-Czech mixture's sloppiness in the following wrong cost them, though, and with three Scout kills SoaR won the second-round force.
After taking the minimal lead, SoaR was on the receiving end of some overwhelming rounds from eXtatus, who went up 5-2 before SoaR managed to reply with their first full buy round—it was Michael "Grim" Wince and Logan "Voltage" Long that combined with two apiece to give the North Americans their third.
Rounds were traded back and forth from that point onwards, with individual plays such as Martin "MonttY" Melišek's 3K on the A offense in round 12 and Voltage's quad-kill with the AWP in the following deciding the outcome of rounds.
SoaR managed to recover towards the end of the half and actually grabbed the lead before the switch (8-7), but eXtatus' duo MonttY and David "frozen" Čerňanský grabbed all five kills on the pistol to get their side back in control.
Matthew "mCe" Elmore's team had an opening in the second half after they won their first T round to make it 9-12, but after the following round came to a 2v2 situation on A, eXtatus was able to clutch it out, resetting SoaR. The North American side wasn't able to fight back from that situation, and after frozen clutched the final 1v1 against Ryan "Snakes" Amann, ended up losing the game 16-9.
