Spanish teams shuffle players as LVP locks Superliga rosters
In a scene that could have been taken out of Game of Thrones, a particularly gruesome roster shuffle took place ahead of LVP’s roster lock which was enforced at midnight ahead of both the LVP Superliga Orange and ESL Masters Spain's upcoming seasons.
Only two teams were left unscathed, Rajohn "EasTor" Linato’s G2V and Movistar Riders, although the latter will not play LVP’s next Superliga Orange as the newly created Movistar Riders Blue with Miguel "exerz" Marín, Rafael "rAmbi" Jiménez Montilla, Jon "jonba" Baraiazarra, Javier "cloud" López, and 17-year-old Ponciano "loco" Gómez, will take their spot. It is as of now unknown which of the two Movistar Riders teams will compete in the upcoming ESL Masters Spain. Having won it last season and therefore qualifying for ESEA MDL, Alejandro "mopoz" Fernández-Quejo Cano & co. will be looking to further focus on accumulating more international experience than dominating domestically.
After three quartets deserted Antonio "FlipiN" Rivas del Rey and x6tence in as many previous projects, x6tence now bought fellow veteran and former teammate Jonathan "MusambaN1" Torrent and Wololos stand-in Iván "NaOw" González for a reported $41,700 from Giants. Joining them will be local up-and-comers Tomás "Ergasster" Perez and Jose "HUMANZ" Luis Cebrian Martinez—the latter still under contract with gBots, who will not clear him until his contract expires at the end of the month.
Meanwhile, David "Kairi" de Miguel, Aitor "SOKER" Fernández, and Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora, the more talented trio of the old x6tence core have distanced themselves from FlipiN, but are still bound by contract to the organization and will be looking for two international players to complete their roster and compete in online cups and leagues as x6tence will field MusambaN1 & co. in domestic tournaments.
The Spanish scene has also seen an influx of Portuguese players, as Luís "ZELIN" Lousada and Filipe "Pizituh" Pires will join last season's LVP Superliga winners KPI, where Victor "xikii" García and the Slovakian brothers Michal "EMENK" Belej and Peter "shhhack" Belej ply their trade. Furthermore, the Portuguese flag will be seen waving behind the Giants logo this season as Joao "KILLDREAM" Ferreira, Ricardo "roman" Oliveira, and Francisco "obj" Ramos have banded together and will be joined by the Spanish duo of Omar "arki" Chakkor and Miguel "drifking" García Bermell in a team which will be coached by Ricardo "AIm" Almeida.
Miguel "Blastinho" Llombart's MAD Lions, the runners-up in last season's LVP, will bring Rubén "TorPe" Jesús Gómez Rodríguez and Francisco "Zorrele" Rosa Egea on board, joining Raúl "DeathZz" Jordán Nieto and Javier "Vasili" Huélamo Gracia to form a quintet. Finally, Natanael "kanarito" Ródenas Betancort is once again left in the rain in gBots, as his teammates dispersed leaving him with a makeshift lineup expected to tank this season.
Here are some of the most notable new lineups:
* Expected to join after his contract with gBots expires at the end of the month
