The registration process for the European and North American qualifiers for IEM Katowice is now open, ESL has announced.
Half of the 16 spots at IEM Katowice will be determined by a series of regional qualifiers, with Europe getting four, while North America has been allocated two.
In these two regions, the qualifying process will begin with two open qualifiers leading to a closed bracket. In Europe, the closed qualifier will feature 12 teams (four qualified and eight invited), while in North America it will feature nine (two qualified and seven invited), which means that there will be one match played before the quarter-finals.

IEM Katowice will span six days and culminate with the playoffs at the Spodek Arena, in Katowice, from March 2-4. A total of $500,000 will be up for grabs in the tournament, which will be played under the new format announced by ESL last month, with two double-elimination groups of eight teams leading to the playoffs.
