Na`Vi move past QB.Fire with great second half showing

Natus Vincere have won their first match at the ELEAGUE Major Main Qualifier after beating Quantum Bellator Fire by a 16-8 scoreline.

The CIS clash did not begin the way many had predicted as Na`Vi got shut down on their way to the B site. Egor "flamie" Vasilyev then decided to take matters into his own hands as he picked up a quad-kill to level up the score, with the Ukrainian team following that up with two more rounds.

Quantum Bellator Fire were unwilling to let the map slide, however, and tightened up their defence, immediately countering Na`Vi's round wins to keep the game wide open. The Russian team eventually took the lead after stringing three rounds together, but Na`Vi picked up the pace to finish the half with eight rounds on the board.

s1mple was Na`Vi's top player in the CIS clash

The second half began with Natus Vincere further adding to their lead after taking the pistol round and the subsequent anti-ecos. Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev then came up huge with the AWP, picking up a quad-kill inside A and a triple-kill on the B site shortly afterwards. Quantum Bellator Fire struggled to penetrate the sites as Na`Vi kept their defence very tight, with the Ukrainians eventually locking down the map, 16-8, to move into the 1-0 pool of teams in Atlanta.

no, I've been here since the end of 1.6 But in terms of HLTV, you can be true EDIT: Although I registered later then that, when users' comments annoyed me
2018-01-13 01:17
LOL get real hungary man. s1mple > everyone talent wise and only behind niko and cold because his team isn't good enough. If coldzera was on navi but played the same he would be top 15 that's it and win no tournaments.
2018-01-12 23:56
Yeah. everyone on HLTV seems to forget that the rankings only care about how you performed throughout the year, not about how absolutely skilled each player is. In a contest of raw skill, s1mple is #1 in the world: fact.

Sadly raw skill doesn't make you the best, and doing well against a tier 5 team doesn't make you the best in terms of raw skill
2018-01-13 00:16
Raw skill makes you the most skilled, i.e. the best in the field that we're discussing, so it's a very pertinent argument to make. Also, if you're going to judge someone's skill by one match, you're not worth talking to - if you've followed CS:GO for more than a month you should be well aware of how amazing s1mple is individually.

Yeah, s1mple is not bad individually, but in a f*cking team game it doesn't matter at all if your team loses. And you can't be the best player if you don't win anything.
2018-01-13 01:00
Once again, you've failed to make the distinction between "most skilled" and "wins the most". CS is a team game and being the best individual absolutely does not guarantee that you'll win a ton of titles. If SK hadn't been the best team in the world throughout 2017, do you honestly think cold would be #1 in this year's ranking? Let him switch places with s1mple and see how many titles he wins.

That's what I said. He won't get #1 in a bad team. But also I don't think he's even close to cold, fer, NiKo, device, shox (yeah he was not good in 2017 because of his role in the team) and k0nfig. But of course, there are men, who think he's the best. That's OK. I think he's overhyped and overrated, but I don't want to argue
2018-01-13 02:31
Well, debating is fine but I agree arguing isn't, and I don't want this to turn into one. But your comment leads nicely back into the original comment I made - #34, where I stated that people need to understand the HLTV rankings don't reflect who is the most skilled individually, simply who performed the best throughout the year. It stands to reason that the highest performing player in the best team in the world would take the #1 spot, in such an instance - it's been that way historically every year, except arguably in 2014 when GTR was ranked #1. It doesn't mean they're the best. :)

If you read my first reply to you, I also said that that skill doesn't make you #1, you need a team. And the "arguement" was about s1mple and his skill
2018-01-13 11:48
If you read your own post back to me, you're saying "skill doesn't make you #1" and "the argument was about s1mple and his skill" in the same paragraph. Not sure if this is a language barrier or something, because it should be pretty easy to connect the dots: we are saying that skillwise, s1mple is #1. In my first post on this thread, I made the necessary distinction between who the most skilled player is, and who HLTV will rank as their #1 player this year. This is because HLTV looks at statistics of performances throughout the year, and completely ignores who actually has the highest skill cap.

I felt as if Henry and Sado were way too harsh on Navi. Sure the USP and P250 round losses were bad, but they were by far the better team. It's their first match at the major, it's no time for panic.
