Liquid edge past AVANGAR in overtime to secure last Major spot

MIRAA
January 16th, 2018 05:50

Liquid have secured the final spot at the ELEAGUE Major Boston's New Legends Stage after defeating AVANGAR 19-15 on Mirage.

The final match of the day began with Liquid picking up the first pistol round of the game following a successful B retake, with Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken picking up three kills. AVANGAR then hit-back on a third-round buy off of two entry kills from Timur "buster" Tulepov in the T ramp, and they followed up with another round to equalise the score at 2-2.

The game then entered a scrappy period as rounds went back and forth and anti-ecos were lost, but then AVANGAR ran away with the lead, closing out the half with a 9-6 lead as the rounds Liquid edged out were few and far between.

nitr0 the hero as he forced overtime with a quad-kill

AVANGAR picked up where they had left off and won the pistol round and the following anti-eco to take an even bigger lead over the North Americans. The game then turned into a complete one-sided affair as Liquid won nine of the following ten rounds to secure a 14-12 lead. buster and Ali "Jame" Djami then came up for the Kazakhstani team, who hit match point, but a stunning quad-kill from Nick "nitr0" Cannella in the 30th round pushed the game to overtime.

With the momentum on their side, Liquid rallied for a quick win in overtime, winning four straight to close out the match and book the last spot in the next stage.

If they had steel who literally wpuldnt manage more than 5 kills per map than zews let alone do other useful stuff shich zews did, nitr0 wouldnt be in top3 loquids best performers

Well it is true that zews was calling so nitr0 was free to focus on his game but you're still playing with someone who hasn't played on pro level for ages now, almost a 4v5. I believe they could go 3-2 or 3-1 with steel

well I don't think so, first of all he has massive problems to fit in this team due to permanent visa issues, actually I think that he is not the worst player on the lineup because there are many games where he performs better than other parts of the team. But to say that the coach gets more impact than him is just mean and furthermore not true.

Yes yes and he is a foreigner etc etc i knoq i know but look, no way, and i mean no way liquid is going places with him on the team. Mark my words. And zews did everything that a world class support wouldve done except for a clutxh or two. You will see
2018-01-16 12:27
And they lost multiple games 16-14, Liquid haven't had that much time to see how they can perform with Zews, if they don't play well at their first event post-major, then maybe I can see a roster change.

Against NAVI yeah, but If you exclude that he dropped like 130 frags in 5 maps. Absolutely nuts
2018-01-16 06:42
if you exclude the map against Na'Vi, nitr0 had a 102.016 ADR across the entire qualifier. Also excluding that map, he averaged 29.4 kills per game.
