Astralis win Danish derby after great comeback

Astralis have gone 1-1 in the ELEAGUE Major Boston's New Legends Stage after surviving a scare against North.

The Danish derby began with a brilliant pistol round from North, who sold a fake outside to plant the bomb on the inner site, with Astralis running out of time to defuse the bomb. After losing both eco rounds, Astralis managed to pick up the first full gun round, courtesy of a triple-kill from Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, and followed it up with another round to bring the deficit to a minimum.

The game then entered a scrappy period as rounds went back and forth, but as Astralis dimmed towards the end of the half, North went on a six-round streak to take an impressive 11-4 lead.

Astralis beat North in a nail-biter

Down 4-11, Astralis were in a true nightmare scenario, and things went from bad to worse for them as they got slaughtered in the pistol round. Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye then single-handedly kept his team in it with three Desert Eagle kills as the game was threatening to spiral out of control.

That was the start of a massive run from Astralis, who won 10 of the next 11 rounds to hit match point. With just a sliver of hope, North took the game to the 30th round with a great 1v2 clutch from Philip "aizy" Aistrup, but Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander's men would close it out with a well-executed split.

Yeah I had a major (no pun intended) flashback as well. Looking at the scoreboard, it feels like Astralis deserved it more despite the close result.

Well, they had a mediocre group stage a year ago as well. Going 3-0 usually doesn't help teams much.

Idk about you guys, but this major has been a really fun one. You have teams pulling off upsets (QBF) and you have legendary teams who are one game away from being sent home (North, Virtus.Pro). Good major!
