Cloud9 eliminate Astralis from Major

Cloud9 are through to the fifth round of the ELEAGUE Major's New Legends Stage after easing past Astralis 16-6 on Train.

Cloud9 started the match off on the right foot, securing a quick 3-0 lead after picking up their T-side pistol with a B execution. In the first gun round, William "RUSH" Wierzba and Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham further extended their team's lead after winning a 2v4 situation.

After getting their economy back on track, Astralis held off their opponents two rounds in a row, bringing the deficit to 2-5. The Danes then looked to be in prime position to break Cloud9's economy after Nicolai "device" Reedtz picked up four kills, but Jake "Stewie2K" Yip had different plans and clutched a 1v2 situation.

Cloud9 move into the 2-2 pool

A scrappy period of play ensued as neither team could stamp their authority on the game, with Astralis bagging the final two rounds of the half to bring the scoreline to 6-9.

Cloud9 began the second half just like the first, winning three rounds in a row and the first gun round. But this time, Astralis would not be able to find a single opening as the North Americans locked down the map without losing a round as CTs.

I think they didn't have enough practice to get their teamwork done, they lost so many rounds with advantages, also dupreeh awping is not the best idea

I think with time it could work with dupreeh being awper, if he wants it and device is an amazing rifles, then why not. I think they just need a little more of a loose ct side with the changes, it worked very well with the standins

I think it's really bad that the major is after the break, the top teams lose a bit of skill and then they are on par with the lower teams, that's why these upsets keep happening
