SK defeat Gambit; advance to playoffs

SK secured their third victory at the New Legends Stage of the Major, beating Gambit 16-10 on Overpass to advance to the playoffs.

With the pistol round and the first gun round going more or less smoothly in their favor, SK were set up to a great CT side on Overpass. In their second buy, Gambit traded Fernando "fer" Alvarenga early on and Rustem "mou" Telepov went on to take a total of three kills, but the Brazilian side was composed in the late round and advanced their lead.

SK were 7-0 up shortly, with the one-sidedness of the match being reflected in two Gambit players being without a kill at that point. One of them was Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev, who finally got on the board in the next one, picking up two kills to get Gambit's first round of the game.

SK had a brilliant CT side on Overpass

After Gambit added another round, making the score 9-2, SK got back in control of the game, with fer's 1v1 clutch in the last round making the score 13-2 for the half.

A fast-paced B push on the pistol went well for SK from the start, with João "felps" Vasconcellos claiming two early kills and the rest of the squad closing it out. However, the Kazakhstani squad replied with a force buy, giving themselves a chance to come back (14-3).

Bektiyar "fitch" Bahytov's smoke play that yielded him a triple kill got Gambit their seventh round, SK switftly replied, but couldn't close it out in the following one and Gambit continued their comeback. Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov and co. got to 10 rounds before slipping up in a 4v2. The killer duo of SK, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and Marcelo "coldzera" David, clutched it out and secured SK a place in the playoffs.

Zeus is smarter, but fitch is more complete. Zeus looks like a bot shooting
2018-01-22 22:45
thats why u are a noob, u dont understand CS is a strat game that ends with skill zeus is one of the most awarded players ever and u will never understand his game. peanut brain!
2018-01-22 23:12
Maybe his history is victorious ... But today he is playing very bad, he's destroying NaVi, that's the point man
2018-01-23 01:55
have u ever had a CS team? i just think u dont have any idea how to built a new lineup and become a team. zeus is one of the most qualified person to do it, stop thinking u can understand what he do just watching a game, CS is way more complicated than what u can see on a match. They guy just won a major and u talk trash like this, OMFG!
2018-01-25 21:30
Suck Zeus's dick, I just sad that he is not playing well
2018-01-26 21:38
of course he is not playing well, his duty is to fix his team and make them play as a team. that is called to be IGL as u never been IGL of any level team u just dont understand how to avaluate a IGL and talk trash about a super winner player like that mark my words, NAVI will make some history this year kid!

I knew they wouldn't comeback, but SK T-side on Overpass is soo bad.

Well played SK. Good match by felps, it's amazing to see he perform at this level at a major, even not being their full-time player anymore. Gambit played a really good CT side and made the game exciting again, but props to SK for closing the game before it came out of control.

Not impressed..... their best map and let it get that close vs a weaker team. Still bit confused how they let go of 9/1 lead vs Faze.... too many basic mistakes like positioning and greedy 1 by 1 peeks but whatever, they are where they belong
2018-01-22 23:17
Would be more worried if they had their full roster, right now is all about on spot adaptation. Plus they will have some time to work on those.
2018-01-22 23:25
I really think they can make it to the finals, somehow, they play out of their minds when under pressure, this already happened before on ECS S3, were they played in the same day the semis against Astralis (#3) and the finals against FaZe (#2), both with a great comebacks, if you look right now in the Major, they can make their way to the finals in the same day, as you know, the quarterfinals and semis will run on the same day.
