100 Thieves have formally confirmed that Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe has been released from his contract with immediate effect.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the North American organisation cited "offensive and inappropriate" language used by Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe in a Twitter discussion with renowned analyst Duncan "Thorin" Shields as the reason to part ways with the 23-year-old.
kNgV- leaves 100 Thieves without having played a single official match for the team, who missed ELEAGUE Major Boston over "immigration issues" after spending nearly one month bootcamping in Poland.
The North American organisation added that, before signing the team, it had underlined to all the players "the importance of maintaining a high standard of behaviour, both publicly and privately." This was of special importance after kNgV- publicly threatened former CLG member Pujan "FNS" Mehta on Twitter in the aftermath of DreamHack Montreal, where his team, then known as Immortals, forfeited the first map of the grand final after arriving late at the venue.
The announcement leaves the Brazilian squad depleted to just four players. 100 Thieves added that it is currently "working with the other players" to determine the future of the team, who will compete in the North American closed qualifier for IEM Katowice on January 30.
