Ozstrik3r joins LDLC as coach

French veteran Steeve "Ozstrik3r" Flavigni has been installed as LDLC's new coach, the organisation has announced.

The 39-year-old will step into the shoes of Julien "Krav" Hernandez, who, according to LDLC, will "concentrate on his speciality, analysis", after coaching the team for the last nine months.

Steeve "Ozstrik3r" Flavigni is one of the most popular figures in the French Counter-Strike scene. Between 2004 and 2012, he played at a top level, winning multiple EPS France titles and also a CPL World crown, in 2006.

After switching to CS:GO, he was part of the Imaginary Gaming squad that finished in second place in ESL Major Series Winter 2012 and that attended Esports Heaven Vienna, where he played alongside Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli and Richard "shox" Papillon.

Ozstrik3r is LDLC's new coach

The French veteran makes the move to LDLC after a four-month spell with aAa, who placed third at ESWC 2017 under his tutelage.

"For me, this is an unexpected opportunity to join LDLC because it is the best in France today (Serious, quality of work with the equipment they put at our disposal and Gaming House)," Ozstrik3r said in a statement.

"aAa was a wonderful experience for me, and I couldn’t thank them enough for what they gave me, both the staff and the players, with whom I continue to speak.

"Working with a group that mixes the experience of Ex6, Mani and Devil with the talented Toinou and Alex gives me hope for the future! "

LDLC's roster looks as follows:

Belgium Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans
Belgium Antoine "to1nou" Pirard
United Kingdom Alex "ALEX" McMeekin
Switzerland Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez
France Timothée "DEVIL" Démolon

NICE, old source pro xd
2018-01-26 21:08
Oztrik3r was a big name of French CS 1.6, not source. The ex-VeryGames legend "RegnaM" (CS Source) joined as a manager though.

2018-01-26 21:27
Literally bottom player of the team in 95% of his games...
2018-01-27 00:05
He was 30+ years old during his career on CSGO, he couldn't frag but he's the kind of guy who played as IGL to help in raising young French talents in GO (shox, kio, ScreaM). He's a veteran of 1.6, he has experience and knows about the game and the psychological approach in a team. I just learnt how to bootcamp properly just watching one of his old interviews.
2018-01-27 02:22
I just wanted to say he was really bad at getting enemies killed in 1.6 and GO. But it doesn't mean he won't be a good coach. Anyway GL to him.

What you need is good players not a coach. G2 has a coach and on paper exceptionally good players, yet he can't make them play as a team. A coach cannot change anything in CS.

Sometimes coach is there to be authority. For example, zonic coach of Astralis decided that it is best for the team to bench karrigan. He has over a decade of experience. And guess what it turned out best for both sides?Astralis won a major and karrigan is on his way to win a major.
2018-01-27 10:55
I remember him as a clown and a laughing stock in 1.6. Just 0 brain and 0 aim
