ex-100 Thieves eye felps as kNgV- replacement
The former 100 Thieves team have targeted SK Gaming’s backup member João "felps" Vasconcellos as the replacement for Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe, HLTV.org has learned.
The Brazilian team have been on the lookout for a new fifth player since Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe was released while the squad still represented 100 Thieves.
The North American organisation’s decision to cut ties with the players will not bring about a reunion between the team and kNgV-, who, according to Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima, has embarked on "new projects".
Sources close to the team have guaranteed to HLTV.org that João "felps" Vasconcellos is the primary target to fill the vacant spot on the roster, rejecting suggestions that the players are not on good terms with the SK member.
The 21-year-old has been on SK’s bench since November, when he was replaced by Ricardo "boltz" Prass on the starting line-up. Last month, he played for the team as a stand-in at the ELEAGUE Major, helping them to reach the semi-finals and retain their Legend status.
The main stumbling block for felps to join ex-100 Thieves is that he remains contracted to SK until June. This means that any organisation willing to sign the team will have to reach an agreement with SK for felps' transfer.
Prior to joining SK, felps played alongside Henrique "HEN1" Teles and Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles under three different organisations: Games Academy, Tempo Storm and Immortals. During this time, the team most notably won CEVO Pro League Season 9, iBUYPOWER Masters and DreamHack Open Summer.
