StarSeries i-League Season 4 first round drawn

Striker
February 10th, 2018 17:35

Starladder have just drawn the matchups for the first Swiss round of StarSeries i-League Season 4 on a live stream.

The 16 teams taking part in StarSeries i-League Season 4 were distributed into four pools, with the first pool featuring the top four teams according to HLTV rankings facing off against the fourth pool, which includes runner-ups of the North America and European qualifiers, as well as the two teams coming from Asia.

Astralis will face Liquid in their debut with Magisk

The four teams from the second pool — teams ranked from #5 to #9 excluding NiP, who declined the invitation — were then drawn up against the third pool.

Here are the four pools:

Pool 1 Pool 2 Pool 3 Pool 4
Europe FaZe  Europe mousesports  Kazakhstan Gambit  Denmark Heroic
Brazil SK Sweden fnatic Poland Virtus.pro  Australia Renegades
United States Cloud9  Denmark Astralis Europe HellRaisers  China TyLoo
France G2  Ukraine Natus Vincere  North America Liquid Korea MVP PK

In the first round of the best-of-three Swiss stage, which was drawn live on Starladder's stream earlier today, Astralis were pitted against Liquid in a familiar matchup, although with new rosters, as Emil "Magisk" Reif replaced Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye while Liquid added Keith "NAF" Markovic in place of Josh "jdm64" Marzano.

The full draw of the first round can be found below:

Europe FaZe  vs. China TyLoo
France G2 vs. Australia Renegades
United States Cloud9  vs. Denmark Heroic
Brazil SK vs. Korea MVP PK
Europe mousesports  vs. Poland Virtus.pro
Denmark Astralis vs. North America Liquid
Ukraine Natus Vincere  vs. Europe HellRaisers
Sweden fnatic vs. Kazakhstan Gambit

I mean. The only team from the 4th pool that isnmore challenging is heroic. Renegades’ tyloo and mvp are garbage. So the only unlucky team was c9 Have a nice day -veryokguy

As if it matters. SK would win against any of these four easily, perhaps only having some trouble against Heroic, but still SK would win. It doesn't matter and they do not need to be lucky to win against tier 2-3 teams.

Maybe, but if NiP can show that they can play like they did in Oakland most of the time they play i think that they deserve an even higher ranking, but as of now that hasnt happen.

RNG and VP should be switched
2018-02-10 19:53
That's kind of debatable
2018-02-10 20:26
purely looking at it on a achievemnt based result. and rng for the most part have a very good understanding of teamplay. and they are confident about their firepower so even tho they might lose games they dont get smashed like they used to. heroic and vp also both changed a palyer.
2018-02-10 20:29
Won't saying anything about vp but I'd say heroic could definitely go toe to toe with rng. They usually play even with the good teams, only worry would be that they tend to play worse against worse opposition. Still would be close

due to those information (dust2 and hltv) i agree that they refused that. do you know the reason? north maybe because of the roster change

Okay, so when did NiP decline the invitation? Dennis said a few weeks ago he's going to play for starseries or Katowice, and 3 days ago he said he's playing in Katowice, and if NiP isn't in starseries but in Katowice... NiP dennis confirmed :>

VP is only in Pool 3 because of the respect people have for their name. They should have been in Pool 4, and Heroic at Pool 3.
