North and FaZe win openers against NiP and ORDER
North beat NiP on Inferno while FaZe did the same on Mirage against the heavy underdogs, ORDER, in their Group B opening matches.
The match between North and NiP kicked off on Inferno, with the former taking the first pistol round on the attacking side after taking A, planting, and defending the site. The Danes jumped to a quick lead, winning the first pistol round and the following eco for a 5-0 lead. NiP then took the second gun round, but were instantly reset and North ran away with the half, taking an 8-1 lead. Down 1-9, NiP were finally able to take a second round in large part thanks to a big triple by Fredrik "REZ" Sterner. NiP followed it up with three more rounds before Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså got a triple in the last round of the half for a 10-5 partial.
William "draken" Sundin found himself in a 1vs2 after planting on A, but was unable to clutch out as Philip "aizy" Aistrup and Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye corralled him in pit and defused after taking him out. A four-kill round by valde in the first round put North ahead 13-5, starting to close the door to a comeback for the Swedes. NiP won the following round to get a sixth on the board, but were instantly shut down the next round as aizy closed the round out with a big triple to stop the Swedes trying to execute on A. Still trying to wiggle their way back into the game, NiP once again abused the B site to get a seventh on the board. The Swedes then got a couple more rounds while playing against North’s match point, but were eventually unable to stop the Danes, who took the match, 16-10.

Starting on the terrorist side, FaZe won the first pistol round on Mirage and took the early 3-0 lead on the B stream. ORDER were able to take the second gun round to get on the board, 1-5, but were quickly reset by the European combine. FaZe went up 7-1 after almost losing against a full eco with Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács clutching out a 1vs2. Following that round the Australians got a couple rounds on the board to close distances, 3-7. Despite the hiccup, FaZe were able to close the half out 12-3.
The second half started with FaZe taking the second pistol round with doubles by Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and GuardiaN, not allowing ORDER to save and setting themselves up to take the map after winning the anti-ecos and reaching match point, 15-3. Able to take down the Australians as they tried to execute on A, FaZe closed it out 16-3.
