NickelBack steps down from EPG
Alexey "NickelBack" Trofimov is no longer part of Elements Pro Gaming, the organisation has announced on VK.
The 20-year-old leaves EPG after spending the last five months tied to the organisation, who had brought him from Spirit Academy into their roster alongside Russian duo Aleksey "El1an" Gusev and Ivan "spaze" Obrezhan, and Latvian player Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis.
Aleksey "NickelBack" Trofimov is the second player to depart EPG since the start of the year, following spaze's removal from the active roster in January.
The news came just shortly before EPG's first match in the ECS Season 5 Challenger Cup, in which they will face Natus Vincere with coach Andrey "Xoma" Mironenko as a stand-in.
With NickelBack on the roster, EPG recently placed third at the Cybersport Festival Defender, where they finished above ELEAGUE Major participants AVANGAR and Quantum Bellator Fire.
EPG's roster currently looks as follows:
Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov
Aleksey "El1an" Gusev
Kristaps "krii" Bricis
Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis
Andrey "Xoma" Mironenko (coach)
