Asian Challenge League revealed with ~$80,000 prize pool
DouyuTV has revealed a brand new CS:GO competition in Asia, the Asian Challenge League, with a total prize-pool of 500,000 CNY (~$80,000).
The Asian Challenge League will span four online seasons, which will run from March to November, with two spots at the offline finals and a 50,000 CNY (~$7,900) prize-pool on offer in each of those.
The competition will then culminate with the 300,000 CNY (~$47,400) finals by the end of the year, whose dates, location and format will be revealed closer to the event.
According to the announcement, the Asian Challenge League intends "to provide a platform for Asian teams and to promote Asian CS:GO development". The online seasons will take place in the following months:
Asian Challenge Series 1: March-April
Asian Challenge Series 2: May-June
Asian Challenge Series 3: August-September
Asian Challenge Series 4: October-November
Each season will kick off with a best-of-one round-robin group stage, with the playoffs stage being a best-of-three, single-elimination bracket. The participating teams for the first season are the following:
